How do I figure out which one is right for me? I don't want to spend too much more than $300 tops. I think the dvd ones sound good but I honestly don't have a clue how to select the best one for my personal needs. Help?

Whatever you do, be sure to get more than one battery and a charger. Get a really tall stand also.
Do you have a friend or family member that has one that you like? Try theirs out.

You should find one that you think would work for what you'd beusing it for. Maybe one that's small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. Maybe you would like one that doesn't require you to use tapes. Battery life is something that you might also want to consider, as you wouldn't want it to die when you're using it.

Good luck and please have fun!
