I lived there for years because my parents made me and hated every minute of it. These yokels are exactly the kind of people that have ruined the country with their simplistic minds. First day of the week they go to church and worship Oral Roberts and send him money to make sure he doesn't kill himself. Then they go to the boy scouts and learn how to make their parents happy and serve their country. Then they join the army and get their legs blown off. Then they spend the next twenty years having children and teaching them to behave the same way and laughing at kids like me who point out what is wrong with what they are doing. I got humiliated at school because I believed in Evolution and wanted to study science, got beaten half to death with a paddle while a teacher held me down, was forced to do the scouting thing because with an absense of any science programs (or belief in it for that matter) it was the only way to go to college, and told I would burn in hell for talking to cathlic

Woah! I know a bunch of Oklahomans and none of them have been through what you are accusing them of. Sorry this happened to you but all Oklahomans are not like that I don't know any that give their money to Oral Roberts. I do know that the ones from Tulsa are extremely segregated from other races.. Where did you live?

I have never worshiped Oral Roberts. For many Oklahomans he is joke.
Scouting does have a lot to offer a boy growing up. Building self esteem.
Getting "beaten half to death" would have required at the very least a call of 911 and treatment in a hospital. A report filed against the teacher and others involved. Why was this not done?
Talking to a Catholic has nothing to do with burning in Hell.... Those people are misguided.
If you lived in the Tulsa area and could take advantage of their school systems magnate program you would have a excellent science curriculum.
Famous Oklahomans abound Football heroes, Baseball stars, Nationally known ballerinas, Journalists and commentators, authors, legislators, actors and astronauts.
Were you are at, and what You Do with where You are At. Don't blame the people around out. It sounds you are more made a your parents for making you live somewhere you don't want to live.
The people of Oklahoma are good honest people.

In responsed to your comment to ME, I'm sorry if this really happened to you, but I still take offense at your stereotyping. My best friend got attacked by a bunch of African American guys, but I'm not going to go off on a tirade and say that this is typical behavior of that race. Generalizations are what is screwing up this country, not people from Oklahoma.
