That's how all berries are after you freeze them, it's okay to use them in recipes, just don't squeeze out all the juice, or you'll lose most of your flavor.

of course they are mushy by frezzing you have crystalized their molecular structure and in doing so when they thaw they get mushy if you are looking for harder fruits you would have to make them flash frozen wich would require a blast freezer but just a note the fruits even mush should be very tasty

Any fresh fruit will get freezer burn and may not be edible after the thaw.. Never freeze unless its prepared for the freezer:

yeah that happens.. the ones you buy frozen are frozen really fast so they dont go as mushy. sorry dont know any tricks to freezing berries

When you take berries out of the freezer, either eat them while they're partially frozen, or make a compote, pie, or cobbler out of them.

That's because the cell walls of fresh fruit are fragile and they rupture when the water in them freezes and expands.
