I asked a fairly simple question the other day, and one guy told me to go get a proper job. Lame, I know, but I have seen loads of really offensive remarks left for other users.

Not every one wants to be serious about your ?,s probably the same as you don,t want to be serious about some questions you see, like in a face to face conversation with a group of people. But on the whole do you not think it,s great complete strangers are prepared to help each other, take any remarks that don,t help you too much with a pinch of salt most of us are serious all day long in our jobs.

It's a free world so we are told. If it seems a genuine serious question i usually answer in a sensible fashion. But i don't see anything wrong by taking the mickey every now and again. Some people need to develop a sense of humour. Life is not a rehearsal.I hope you haven't found this answer offencive in any way.

It depends on what the question is that I have asked...and if I deserved an offencive remark...If you ask a question, surely for that question to be answered truthfully, then people have got to give their true opinion even if it offends...a simple question doesn't in my opinion require an offencive remark though.

Yes it does. I was brought up to believe that if I have nothing civil to say then I should say nothing at all. I always try to be civil and it's not the most difficult thing in the world. If people just thought with a civil mind the world would be so much better.

It doesn't annoy me as much as it shows either how unhappy people are with life. Either they aren't getting much fulfillment out of life or they just feel the need to be rude because they can't in conventional society. On the Internet you can be as anonymous as you want to be and sometimes that causes the ugly to come out. My grandmother said it best "Consider the source and rise above it."

You're gonna get rude remarks. It's an open forum, unfortunately, Yahoo doesn't hold people accountable, it's far too easy to make up new ids, multiple ids.

This site is very helpful sometimes but it is also a site where you can have a bit of fun. The only people that offend me are the ones that threaten violence.
