You should buy a leave in conditioner. They sell it for cheap at drug stores. If you use it every other day then less frequent once you see a difference it really helps. It is just a liquid that you put in your hair. Also you should get a good conditioner. Conditioners help dry hair, not shampoo.

Head and Shoulders is supposed to take a while to work, that's what I've heard. But first, if your hair is dry, you need to use deep conditioning. I have long hair, and I blow dry and straighten it on a regular basis. Do you dye your hair? Because that will definitely cause damage too. But to deep condition, buy some good deep conditioner. I suggest a Pantene deep conditioning treatment, Sunsilk TLC, got2b "Hottie" conditioner, or a John Freda product. You can get them for a cheap price, probably cheapest at Wal-Mart. So choose one of those, and wet your hair. Use a LITTLE amount of shampoo first, just to clarify your hair. Put a generous amount ONLY on your ends of your hair - since you have dandruff, don't put any near the roots. Keep it in for like, three hours. I do that on a regular basis. Don't wrap a towel around your wet hair - that actually can cause breakage. Instead, while the hair is soaking in the conditioner, put it in a shower cap. Do this on a weeknight when you have nothing to do. Or, you can leave on overnight. Rinse it out, and your dryness problem should be solved. Do it once a week, and no more than once a week (as your hair will become vulnerable to it and expect it for more times, and your hair will be dry when you stop doing it so frequently). If you find that you need to deep condition your roots too, try that every other week. Try not to blow dry your hair, or use heat stylers. But, if you have to, blow dry instead of using a straightner or curling iron, because that is less damaging.
As for the dandruff, I can't really say much more but to keep using Head and Shoulders. But, it sounds like you should definitely seek help from a hair expert (if it's in your price range), and they might be able to give you a professional product to help with the dandruff. Another tip is that maybe you're using too much shampoo. For your short hair, you only need a little drop. Too much shampoo can dry out your hair and scalp.
Good luck!!

Get the very ends if your hair chopped so you don't have dead or dry hair. If you want, ask about making your layers a little less wild. To prevent spilt ends, untangle wet hair with a widetooth comb because brushes can make your ends spilt. Use an extra moisturizing shampoo and a dandruff shampoo from the drug store, or get products or advice from your hairdresser. Flat iron your hair to make it look longer too. You could also try Sunsilk shampoo or moisturizing hair masks.

Try neutragena T-Gel, that works really well, you have to leave it on your scalp for 10 minutes its a little tingly but it does get rid of dandruff. Also, make sure you are washing your hair in warm water not HOT,washing your hair in hot water can cause dandruff. As far as your hair being dry, try a deep conditioner, use it once a week you'll see a big change in your hair for the better.

well your first problem is your washing your hair way too much if your hair is extremely dry. your taking out all the natural oils in your hair . the dandruff shampoo is really drying your scalp out. you need to use this conditioner it is absoutley fabulous. you'll love the results. IT"S AMAZING!!! you will not regret this product. you'll fall in love with it. it's TIGER MASQUE BY GRUND.it is a reconstructor conditioner. when you use it you can let it air dry but leave a little bit of it in your hair. don't rinse out completely. the results like i said are great. just go to a beauty salon and ask for it, or look online for the product. good luck.

I guess it can't be helped for such type of hair.
First, go get your hair trimmed if its just the ends that are dry, but it's up to you since you mentioned your hair is short.
Also, hair doesn't need to be shampooed everyday for it contributes to hair becoming dry.
As for your dandruff, use a special shampoo and carefully read instructions on how to use it.
