get it wet, or should I wait until it is fully healed in order to get the area wet?

When I got my tattoo, I put vaseline on it before hopping into the shower. This helped to seal it from the water. I also used A&D ointment (used to heal diaper rash) because it has a water resistant agent in it. I really don't think getting it wet would hurt any if you make sure to dry it well and apply ointment RIGHT after the shower. Good luck.

Getting it wet shouldn't hurt it, but do not put it in water with soap. Soap can dry it out and help fade the color faster. I wouldn't wait until it's healed, as you need to keep it clean, so it doesn't get infected. If the tat parlor didn't tell you how to do that, call them back. They should have given (or sold) you tattoo goo or something similar.

You were probably told not to water log your tattoo. That means keeping it as dry as possible. Mine is on the side of my ankle and my artist said to even be careful in the shower and cut back on water time until the scabs were gone. If you aren't sure, call the artist and ask. Good luck!

As long as you don't put soap on it, you should be fine. Also, try not to put it under a direct stream of water, and try not to immerse it in water; instead, just gently splash a little water on it at a time-- and don't scrub it with a wash cloth!
Good luck!

you can get it wet if you are showering or washing it but you shouldn't go swimming or wash dishes or anything else that will have it exposed to water if not necessary.

i would wait a little bit more because it might get ruined and then that would be a waste of money
