You need to up your exercise to include cardio vascular activity that gets your heart pumping. With your 2 mile walk, start power walking each day. Then when you feel fitter, start to add in short runs (eg. run for a minute then walk for ten mins). Keep at it and you will be running the 2 miles soon enough.
Weight training once a week won't do much good either. You need to do it at least 3 times a week.
I'd forget about hiprotein/low carb diets (which is only a short term solution) and just opt for balanced healthy eating (which you can live with forever). Cut down on junk food and sodas and eat lots of salad, grilled chicken, fresh fruit and vegetables etc. Occassional meals of junk food won't kill you but really limit yourself to once or twice a month. If you can manage it, you should cut it out totally til your weight is down.

For your age, I would not recommend doing a diet that would decrease any specific part of your diet - for example, reducing yor carbs (in theory it works, but it can make you really sick by affecting your liver, and you can go into something called ketoacidosis).
If you can go to your doctor and get a referral to a nutritionist, or permission to do a diet that reduces your totaly calories would probably be your best bet (like weight watchers). There's the whole eat more veggies and fruit, less calorie dense foods (like cakes, potato chips, chocolate, etc). And drinking 8 cups of water a day is always advised!
It's good that you are exercising, but you shoud start to change your routine to help burn calories - try to walk faster, or add some hills into your routine. For the walking faster, you can try "interval" training. Walk normal for 5 minutes, then walk as fast as you possibly can for one minute, then walk slower for 5 min, then fast for 1 min, etc... You can increase the time you are walking fast as you feel comfortable (max increase of 30 seconds per week).
I've done diets, and b/c I will "cheat" when going to a nutritionist, weight watchers worked well for me. They will also take your age into consideration, which is really important b/c you don't want to stress your body too much or depress your body's maturation or growth.
You have probably already heard a lot of what I have said other places - there's really no secret to weight loss. And it will be a long, sometimes tough road, but stick with it. And really try to get your parents support (which in my case was always harder than it should be!) It took me over a year to loose over 60 lbs, but I am healthier and happier for it.
Good luck!

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

i know how it feels to be over weight espicaily if your into dating its really hard to find someone who likes you cause most girls do not like over weight people !
i went from 330lbs and droped down to as low as 154lbs at one point.... i now weigh 170lbs
this was the only thing that worked for me was counting calories ....i sure didnt wanna do some weird diet where i eat nothing but chicken broth, or nuthn but grape fruit or something weird like that
i would play around with my calories i might eat 1200 calories and 20 grams of fat one day, then eat 1,400 calories and 18 grams of fat for the next 3 days, then drop down to 1,000 calories and say 23 grams of fat the next day though i could have just stayed for instance on one number such as 1,000 calories and droped a bunch of weight in say 3 weeks my motabolism would have shut down and came to a stand still and i would eventually be stuck losen like 1 pound a week on 1,000 calories and i dont want that...........so thats why i shuffle my calories around some what
Of course this means cuting out bad foods no more pizza or taccos, or pies or cakes or doughnuts, or ice cream
I ate stuff like skinless chicken breast, lean turkey and ham , ceral with skim milk, mixed vegetables, brown beans, yogurt , bananas, grapes, apples more healthy food
But one thing i knew from experience is how your body will finaly give in to a craving and if you fight that craving your fighting your body its self.......ever wonder why so many people lose weight for instance drop a hundred or more pounds then gain the weight back eventually and more
thats because they go off the deep end on there diet and vow i will never eat junk food again.....then it gets to them one day they pop and eat and eat and eat and eat and eat and end up heavier than when the originaly started the diet and all there hard work just went down the drain ive done this to myself in the past .......but i found a way around it that works perfectly
I was thinking remember how god created the heavens and the earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th.....that actualy makes perfect since if you aply that to dieting cause your body needs a resting day ........so what i did was i would diet for 6 or 7 days .then i would rest the 7th or the 8th day no exercise at all and i would eat a little bit of junk food to get it out my system ........like i would useually go get me a large strawberry dr pepper at sonic and a large cheese coney ... Or maybe grill some hamburgers and eat some with a lil chip and dip.......the main thing to remember here is dont go over board for instance dont order a cheese conney, tator tots ,a soda, an ice cream ,then eat some jelly beans and a candy bar youd put the weight you lost right back on ........on your off day the key i smoderation just a lil bit of junk food to help you get it out your system
you will be surpised how refreshed you feel ........and it was so much easier for me before i strugled to stay on diets and went off the deep in........after adding my diet trick of eating a lil junk food once a week i have kept my weight off for 6 years now and i feel so fantastic all i can say what i have told you works for real !!!!!
other than that you should add some weight training to your workouts that will help you drop weight faster cause eventually your body will adjust to the same routine of walkin 2 miles every day and you will start losen less and less weight ........mix your cardio exercise up for example you could do one week of your 2 mile walks next week do a week of say a 1 hour bike ride, next week set the incline up on the treadmill and try to do 30 minutes walking up hill..........
I can tell you this much after the weight goes down you will be in super shape if you keep your aroebic and weight lifting up ..... i went from barley being able to walk around the block .......to runing up to 6 miles with out a rest what so ever between miles .....
by the way theres plenty of books you can buy or check out at your local library on lifting weights and aroebics i good idea would be to buy or check out a few and make you up a pretty good workout routine ........
buy your self a note book and keep up with what you eat every day and the workouts you do write them all down and date them as well.......that way you can see whats workin best for your body
eventualy you will become a lean mean machine and have the endurance of a race horse
