A parent doesn't have to be retired to be an interfering pain in the butt.

I feel you must be a very cruel person to think that about your parents,
who more than likely helped you,
looked after you,
love you, and this is how you show them your Respect
when you get to their age and if you have children you will think life in a different way,
( you should love your parents )
and if you don’t , don’t bother anyone by getting older, save them a job of caring for you

If you cant do it today tell them so. (Unless you have asked for their help and this is the nly day they are available). If they don't except your answer than leave stay gone all day./ Your parents have to accept that you are an adult. Your relationshio should start to change into more of a friendship than a parent child relationship.

i think you should be at work more and not around them as much, let them enjoy their retirement in peace . don't forget they have had to look after you all your life.
by the way get on with doing the garden and stop moaning.

It's you. My parents are retired and I hardly see them. They're too busy having fun, going on trips, out to dinner. They even joined a dance club.
