You seem to make the connection that sex is the same as drinking a glass of water. How weird. If anything, this "perpetuating the species" makes sex much more important than water.
Lust is not a sin inside marriage. It is a sin outside marriage, because it counts as adultery, fornication, etc. If one has sex outside marriage the consequences are dire for both mind (jealousy, crushes, etc) and body (preganancy, diseases), making marriage--as a form of true love--the way that the species can be best "perpetuated."
In fact, some (including i) would say that lust used properly is a gift from God, because it helps keep a marriage healthy.

Biblically (allegorically) lust is also called "concupiscence" and "evil concupiscence": an ungovernable desire to do what's forbidden that also hinders doing what's demanded; Which Paul notes is due to "another law" in Romans 7, and the result is it (the second law in Mt 22 law law & Rom 8 law law) makes you feel "wretched" afterward, since "the second" law is notably "like unto the first" law: sin and death.
So NT law is no better, and no less deadly, than OT law was.
Not to mention "whatsoever is not of faith is sin" in Romans 14:23 combined with "the law is not of faith" in Galatians 3:11 tells us law is sin, sin imputing, which is confirmed in Romans 4:15; Romans 5:13; And 1Corinthians 15:56 even notes law is the strength (strong man) of sin and it's death sting. So then the law, which demands perfection, is itself faulty, and cannot make any comers to it perfect. So then law is not Godly, since God is perfect, also merciful, which law is not.
A movie example of concupiscence is Rennaisance Man, where Danny Devido climbs a 'high tower' to help someone, and the guy at the top says: Don't look down. So Danny Devido immediately looks down, then scolds the guy for saying it, noting it (law) actually causes what it forbids, then fears & torments ("fear hath torment"), which isn't grace us.
Such is the reason the Bible says: "forbid(law) them not".
Looking deeper into the life of Jesus (of Jesus->Christ), we find both "fear" and "fear not" commands actually produce fear(hath torment), boomeranging back on Jesus himself, was notably heard in that he feared: Hebrews 5. Fear hath torment: 1John 1, which is not Godly, nor perfect. So then it reasons Jesus tormented himself with law produces fear.
Even today, just mention of the law (the police) produces fear (hath torment) in many people, and even causes accidents.
POINT: The ROOT source of sin, fear, torment, dis-ease, dis-comfort, etc, is law. Flush law and you flush all sin and death.
Grace neither tempts(laws) nor can be tempted(lawed).
Thereby God (His Grace) cannot lie (law) nor die (law).
POINT: His "Grace" is neither of two "law"s in Mt 22: 36-40.
Think, from the end that is already written:
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Lust is a controlable way of thinking that can get out of control and can lead to many bad things.
stds...jealousy....murder...break up of families..etc..
1Corinthians 7
8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.
9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
Lust can get out of control and cause a lot of problems outside a marriage.

It's lust of the flesh that can be sin.We are to acknowledge the Lord in all our ways and let him direct our paths. If you have a peace from God as to what you are lusting about it isn't sin.
God want us to have abundantly but not something that would take us away from him or not be in our best interest.

Because the zealot pant-loads are afraid they will lose control of the followers. Remember, when they act upon their lust (Baker, Swaggert, Jones, Koresh, Catholic Priests, etc...) they say that they repent, and then everything is O.K. . Be aware that none of them voluntarily step down from their money grubbing perch.

It isn't. There is nothing wrong with wanting more unless you make it an unhealthy desire. A person could become obsessed and cause problems for themselves and others.
Why are trees a sin? Nature is without sin. Evolution is god.

Once upon a time...
Christian women were unfaithful due to impotency of their men, thats why they used to sleep around at their neighbor's places in ancient times. Then these christian men decided put put this in sin's category in order to avoid being cheated and keep women under control.
