I was on Accutane for three months, about a year ago...I quit taking it after while, but I still have some left. What I'm wondering is, is it safe to take it now? Since it's a year old, I mean. I know about the drug itself (nasty side effect possibilities!), so all I'm really wondering is an expiration date?

Thanks!

Do you still have the original box it came in? That should have the expiration date on it.

If not, you shouldn't take it if it has been a year since it has been filled. It might still be good and it might still be effective, but generally medication shouldn't really be used if it has been a year since since it was filled.

Good luck!

Hi,

Well, there should be an expiry date on the blister. According to my online pharmacy, it has a 2 year shelf life. Here's the information if you need to verify:

Most will telll you after a year it's not good. The best thing is to call the drug store and ask them. You don't want to make yourself sick

If it is past the expiration date on the label, throw it out.
