It's funny you mention this. I've just been reading about it in a book called "The Historical Evidence for Jesus.". According to this book (written just a few years ago) most scholars agree that the entire Essenes thing is fictitious concerning Jesus with no basis whatsoever. Apparently it was a popular conception during some of the "anit-historical Jesus" times. But current scholars totally dismiss this as without historical backing at all.

Concerning the Essenes they never managed to spread any further than the dead sea area,Jesus was never an Essene and it was the Apostle Thomas who went to India to preach the Gospel of Christ not Jesus,we know that Jesus never left the holy land in His lifetime, anything other than these things are purely myths.

I never realized that so many people are anti-Christian until I started coming to Yahoo answers. I believe what the words of the Bible teach us. No ramblings of a so called expert on yahoo will challenge my belief or faith.

Didnt feel like reading it all.

I know my God whom i have a relationship with. I know deep down that i am on the right path for me. I know that Jesus is God. I trust this and have faith in Him.

I pray for all people everywhere no matter what their religion, race or anything.

I believe in the Bible.

old information is good information when it has been out of circulation for a while.

the Essenes aren't talked about much in the good ol' bible... I wonder why?

Was interested at first but its too long! Anyway, whatever it is, i dont believe it. I only believe the Bible.
