find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Maybe 15 lbs in 8 weeks, maybe. You need to cut all high frustose corn syrup out of your diet, you need to get rid of all trans fat (hyrogenated oils, partially ect.) You need to consume only healthy fats like olive oil ect. No fast food, no restaurants. Drink 8 glasses of water everyday, eat smaller meals, large breakfast, healthy snacks. Your plate should have more vegetables and some healthy grain like brown rice. Eat fruits, salads, protein shakes ect.
As for exercise if you want to lose that much you need to exercise about 3 hours a day, strength training your body including your abs three times a week.
Normally results will not show from your diet until 6 weeks after you have started, that it why people drop their diets fast because they saw no results.
To do this you would have to eat, think, breath, live diet and exercise.

It will be difficult if you already are exercising and are not overweight. I would try to cut out all sugars and only eat whole wheats, brown rice and veggies as carbs...sweet potatoes and corn are OK. I would try to stay with lean cuts of beef, chicken, fish and pork. Also NO alcohol!!! Drink tons of water and exericse. Also, be realistic...15-20 lbs is alot of weight to lose in that amount of time...be happy with 8-10 lbs and a better lifestyle.

Smart Eating:
Bad combinations: Tea/coffee and cereal -tea and coffee decrease iron absorption from cereal by 60 per cent.
• Wholewheat flakes and dried apricots -dried apricots are a good source of iron, but wholewheat husks contain phytates, which block absorption.
Good combinations: Boiled egg and a glass of fresh orange juice - vitamin C in oranges helps absorption of iron in egg yolk.
• Dhal and brown rice - the amino acids in lentils and rice form a complete protein.
• Fresh sardines and green leafy salad -sardines are a good source of vitamin D, which is needed to help absorb calcium found in green leafy vegetables.
• Muesli with nuts, seeds and fresh fruit -vitamin C found in fresh fruit protects vitamin E found in seeds; vitamin E also protects vitamin C.
• Lamb chops (vegetarian option: nut roast) with carrots . Lamb and nuts are a good source of zinc and phosphorus, which helps zinc to act; carrots contain betacarotene, also aiding zinc absorption.
