Why do you have to "be" a relgion? Why not just have a personal relationship with God?

I assume you want to know which Christian denomination most closely coincides with your beliefs. If, however, you want to know if your beliefs more closely coincide with buddism, islam, hinduism or some other non-christian belief then you have a problem. God tells you, in the Bible, the facts of who he is and what he requires of you. If you believe something else then it doesn't matter which religion it agrees with. Until you believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are lost. None of the other religions have any value to you. They may make you feel good while you're alive, but on the day you die if you have not accepted Jesus, then you will spend eternity in Hell. There are no second chances after death. Literally everyone who does not believe recognizes their mistake after death, but by then it is too late. So I pray that you are talking about denominations and not religions. Christianity is Christianity. All other beliefs are mere religions and do not lead to salvation.

It is unfortunate that you think you must a "find a religion" to fall under. I really can't understand that question. You do not chose a religion, a religion choses you. Sounds like you want a new, and improved version where everything is a "gray" area. Good Luck, with that.

I was once in your situation. I tried belief.net. It was ok. But I went on a search. I studied the history of many religions and found out they weren't for me. Religion is man-made. Needless to say Islam was last on my list. I once heard someone say, "Islam is the youngest of all religions" Islam is not a religion, it is a way of life, and if it is the youngest it is because Islam came after all else failed. Allahuakbar. Don't let anyone especially the Media teach you about Islam. If you are sincere, surrender to Allah (GOD) and you wil gain all the knowledge you need.

Just because you believe in god doesn't mean you have to be from a particular religion.

Religions have over the ages grown for various reasons, the fact there are many would suggest none are necessarily right.

If you are happy and content that you believe in god and live your life as you see fit - don't put yourself in a box.

This is a very nice quiz which will help you figure out what religion you most closely agree with. Of course, it can only be so accurate. I'm a Hindu but the quiz always tells me I'm a Mahayana Buddhist, with Hindu falling in second place.

Here is another quiz that tests you on "What kind of Christian are you?" If you are a Christian, this may help you narrow it down.

Study to show thyself approved
2Tm:2:14: Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
2Tm:2:15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2Tm:2:16: But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
2Tm:2:17: And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
2Tm:2:18: Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
2Tm:2:19: Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
2Tm:2:20: But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
2Tm:2:21: If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
2Tm:2:22: Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
2Tm:2:23: But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
2Tm:2:24: And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
2Tm:2:25: In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
2Tm:2:26: And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

you dont need a web site. just live your life as you know it, life is a journey. you might find what your looking for a second from now, or four and a half decades from now. if you worry about it too much it could cloud your vision of whats really important.

Physicstology, or maybe its lesser known branch, Chemistrology. Both good religions anyway. Try Geologitology too, I heard they are more down-to-earth.
