Yes it is true. It has nothing to do with intelligence, it's more about ability to communicate. Women are (generally) better communicators and are able to articulate a lot more emotion "non-verbally" than most guys. If a guy communicates non-verbally usually... he makes it obvious (like when he is checking a hot girl out), whereas a girl can be more subtle. Guys would prefer it if women would never HINT something... and rather just come out and say it. It's so stressful trying to figure out what a girl really means when her answer to something is "nothing" or "nevermind" or "it's fine".

There are two things a lot of men never discuss with women. Their weight and their age. If a woman makes a comment about her perceived weight gain, they keep their mouths shut because no matter what they say, they're screwed. They never ask, or try to guess a womens age either. Many men can't hide a surprised facial expression if a woman tells him her age and it's younger than he thought. Women are very perceptive of even the slightest twitch of reaction in a man's face.
Other than that, smart men ignore clues, or hints. They're not psychics, but not stupid either. To them, hints and clues are another form of game that some women like to play. If women want something, or need to get a point across, then they bettercome right out and say it in plain language. Most men are not clueless. They just don't waste their time in trying to guess what obscure hints and phrases mean.

YES.
Men are clueless to hints,
we are so stressed out
over our own problems,
its difficult to pay attention
to other people.
Even our own girlfriend.
SOLUTION: Let him solve his lil problems,
and then he can pay attention to you
and your flirting ways.
Your fasttrack way to get noticed
when he is oblivious,
HELP HIM solve his problems.
If its money, help him get hired,
if its an apt, help him find a low price apt,
if its emotional, comfort him.
it doesn't take a genious for a girl to be
a good girlfriend. Just take the lead
and show him you care.
i have had plenty of girlfriends who
knew what they were doing and
how to make me feel better.
Even if it meant sexual healing.
Women know how to solve man's problems.
Thats why women are the leaders
in relationships. U women
hold the reign of power.
Use it wisely to lead in peace.

To me giving hints is clueless.. why not just come out and say it? Why are girls so secretive about everything?

Yeah, pretty much. Just when I think I've become "in synch" with hints, I find that I'm not much closer to developing the skill as I first thought!

well at there's some truth....sometimes we men get the opposite meaning to hints and sometimes get worried over them although its just a misinterpretation on the guy's part... :D

Yes. But it is not my fault. I actually have a disease called NLD and I can;t understand some very few types of physical body language. But most I can. It is not a severe thing but it does affect my life.
