I am currently deployed to Iraq, and I have an unknow medical condition. I did not get much help at my home station due to my doctors in the army. Does anyone know if I can request a compassionate reassignment to get better help and treatment if needed.

Compassionate Reassignment is used when the military members presence is required to alleviate a family problem that cannot be taken care of during normal leave. It is not used in order for the military member to take care of personal medical issues.

If the Army doctors have determined that you are fit for duty then you must serve out your time in the assigned location utilizing the available medical facilities.

I think a compassionate reassignment is only when you have a family member who needs better care...or so you can live closer to a terminally ill parent or something. As far as for you, you just need to keep going to the doctor and demand they get you referrals to get to the bottom of it... keep documented records of all of your appointments and medical records and just keep working in the system... it's a pain in the butt, but it's FREE which is much better than in the civilian world and eventually they'll figure things out...you may be suffering from a rare thing that will take a while to figure out!

Your medical condition would have to be evaluated to determine that you are 'non-deployable' because it interferes with combat duties or you require care that cannot be delayed and is unavailable where you are. Such would be if you were diagnosed with cancer. Then you would be medically evacuated. But they may only take you as far as Landstuhl, Germany for testing and treatment if it is a temporary condition.

a CR is for a PCS. you are currently deployed. Unless your are found medically unfit for duty, you will have to finish out your deployment.

If your condition is serious enough to prevent you from combat duty, your leaders should be able to help. If your condition is a less than serious condition it should not prevent you from doing combat assignments.
