The bottom of my sneakers is wearing down way to thin, way too fast.

The answer depends on what parts of the sole is wearing down the most. You may be over-pronating or under-pronating. Go to a running shoe store and bring your worn shoes. They will tell you what type of shoe you need. Don't have to pay their prices though, once you know what type you need, buy an affordable but comfortable pair of Asics or New Balance, their websites will tell you what models are for you after you find out from a pro.

Asics, new balance. Go to a shop and ask them for shoes sorely for walking. Tell them your walking schedule. See what they say from there. If you do it regularly enough, you might easily have to change one pair of sneakers 6 months to a year.

of course you can, cuz theyre shoes. They will wear out a lot faster. What I did is buy one pair of bball shoes to play playground basketball with and i used them as walking shoes also, then i bought another pair for indoor organized league basketball.
