CHILL PPL! I dont think he means it the way some ppl are taking it.
I'm a christian, and my dad is a pastor. I have met PLENTY of christians who use "poor marketing" (as he calls it, prob not the best wording, but still not something to freak out about) when talking about christianity. By poor marketing i mean, ppl who publicly condemn others for not having the same beliefs, using a 'fire and brimstone' type of method to scare ppl into christianity, and basically weirding ppl out. I've met plenty of pastors who remind me of the homeless guy who screams about the end of the world. I think thats sorta what he means.

My answer to Artificial Superficial is, not all christians use these methods. I completely think it is wrong to cram any religion down another's throat. My motto is to 'lead by example', and it turns out to work for a lot of my friends. By leading a happy and fulfilling life, by my christian standards, it leads to ppl asking me about it. Sort of a 'show them what they're missing." Ppl like the ones you're talking about reflect poorly on the christian community, and it's sad. Just remember that not ALL christians are like that.

oh, and the dude below me REALLY needs to chill. Talk about " SCARY AND INTOLERANT, BIGOTED AND SMALL MINDED". I also think he takes a tad too literal.....

Well, just look at televangelists.

Most of the crazy thumper justify it by saying that people "need" to hear the "word of god".

Who says anyone needs any of that bs? People can survive without religion, but alot of people think that everyone who doesn't believe in some false, invisible thing is "lost", which is definantly not the case.

Hey dude,

Not all of their marketing is poor. Their Potlucks get great reviews !

"The Lutherans know how to put on a potluck, and the feast to honor the Rev. John and Suzanne Standahl was an example. One spectacular dish was seven different layers of jello. There was no bleeding among the layers. It was perfect."

easy! it's not a product you need to buy, it's available in many places already, and comes with a lifetime guarantee that is fully extendable after your death.

but it will enhance your relationships, it will keep you from making poor life choices, it will teach you to be a better spouse, a better parent, and a better steward of money.

if used properly, this product is guaranteed to bring joy, peace and the desire to break into spontaneous song.

due to the immense value of this product, you must undergo rigorous training and work hard to get into good mental and spiritual health. once you've made the committment to get this product, the possibilities for using it daily are endless

and the best thing is its price....free....

I justify a "poor marketing technique" in that a "good marketing technique" is not needed.
John 10:23-30 (Verse 26 and 27 emphasis)
23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.
24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.
25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 I and my Father are one.

Simple: The act of denouncing any act they personally dislike.

I've seen letters to the editor (in Queensland/Oz) denouncing the religious motivation behind the Crusades, witchburnings & other religious attrocities. Claiming the people involved were not "True X-ians"....

Sure the Crusaders & the entire Spanish Inquision appreciated being denounced as not being "True X-ians".

Christ came not to be justified but He justifies Himself to let us know of His great love. your question is a justification of your selfish and corruptible mind.

I blame it on outmoded consumer polling methods and insufficient sales data.
