I bought a Toyota 4x4 p/u from a used car lot for $5000.00 4 years ago. I paid all but $400.00 of it in one year and then the engine blew. I've called the dealership three times and told them what happened and that they should come and get the truck, and 4 years later it's still sitting in my driveway. Since they don't seem to be interested in getting it back, is there any way that I can get the title for the truck short of paying the last $400.00 dollars?

In the short version answer : Nope !

In the long version.. you signed a contract that said you would pay them five grand. After four years there is not much chance that the problem with the car is because of what they did.

They can come Repo it.. but what escapes me is that, unless it is an absolute beater, you should be able to sell it, even for Parts, and get at least $400, so why don't you simply do that?

No they don't want it back, they want their $400. When you pay that you will get the title. At that time you can sell the car as is, or fix it and then sell it.
Stuff happens with used cars. Unless it was under their warranty, this is your only option.
good luck.
