Soviet Union only provided equipment and weapons plus advisers to Vietnam and Korea during the wars against the Allies. However, no Red Army personnel were directly deployed to fight in the battlefields.

Soviet pilots flew MIGs against the US in Korea. We have radio intercepts of their air ground communication. Soviet engineers and technicians helped Hanoi become the most heavily protected air defense area in the world at that time. Both Korea and Vietnam were proxy wars in the course of the cold war just as Afghanistan was. The US did a lot against the USSR there.

The answers filed before me showing USSR pilots flying Chinese MiGs appear to be correct. You should also know that, if newly released Soviet records are to be believed, they formed an Air Division of their best veteran pilots, and contrary to the normal 9+:1 kill ratio achieved by US fighter pilots against NK and PRC pilots, the Soviet records claim a 2:1 ratio. Even so, remember the Soviets picked top aces to send against US formations with about one experienced pilot and three newbies out of four. If the odds were reversed, I would expect that US & Western Allied aces vs Soviet recruits would result in a US favorable ratio of 20+:1. Nothing trains like experience.

Other than AAA techs I know of nothing similar for Viet Nam.

They sent many advisors to both wars, but sent fighter pilots only to Korea to go on actual missions. The Russian pilots only flew over North Korean territory.

Also they trained many military people from both countries in Russia on systems they sold them to liberate there brothers into the prison of comunism.

There were Soviet pilots based in China flying their Migs, against the Allies, but the aircraft had Chinese markings and the pilots wore Chinese uniforms.
