The reason dogs / cats eat grass is to clean out their system. It is an instinked that is built in. If your dog is eating grass all the time this may indicate a food that does not always agree with the animal. Try changing the animals diet a bit and see if the problem lightens up.

My dogs eat grass all the time but they don't throw up. They seem to really enjoy it. They also love to eat lettuce, so maybe they're rabbits dressed up as dogs.
Dogs do tend to eat grass when they have an upset stomach. No one quite knows why. One of my dogs got food poisoning once and was very sick. The first sign of this was that she rushed to the yard and she was literally tearing at the grass like a horse in spring time.
It's more likely that your dog is eating grass because he has a tummy ache, rather than the grass making him sick. Try to see if there's a pattern to what your dog does. When you see him eating grass, try to remember what he ate in the last hour. You might find that there is a particular food or treat that makes him sick. When he throws up, you see the grass in the vomit and assume the grass made him sick, but it's more likely what he had to eat before.

A dog needs vegetable matter in their diets from time to time. When veggies are not a part of the diet they will eat grass. The grass makes them vomit because of the sharp tiny barbs on the grass blade irritate the throat and belly.Try Barley Grass powder from the health food store.Add @ 1/2 a tablespoon full too a little moist food when you see the dog eating grass or hear the belly grumbling.

Dogs commonly eat grass, and there are several explanations that have been offered for this behavior. One, wild canids (e.g., wolves and fox) eat all of an animal when they catch it. Since they eat many herbivores (plant-eating animals), they end up eating a lot of grasses and plants that were in the intestines of these animals. In addition, they have been known to eat certain berries and other plant material. Dogs then, may eat grass because, in reality, it is a normal part of their diet.
Many times, dogs will vomit after eating grass. Did they eat grass to make them vomit? Or did they vomit because they ate grass? It is a mystery, but it seems that some dogs may eat vegetation when they have an upset stomach.
The third reason - they just like it. Some dogs have certain species of grass or plant material that they will search out and eat. We know a beagle who can pick raspberries faster than his owner.
In any case, grass eating is basically a normal behavior, and is not of concern unless your dog does it excessively.

Dogs do eat grass at times to ease digestive upset. If you have a dog that is munching on grass all the time then you need to seriously think about what you are feeding him. All those undigestible useless grains will cause this.Feed a higher quality food, No corn, no more then 2 grains listed in the first 5 ingredients. Dogs are carnivores and should not be made to eat cheap cereal their entire lives.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7wp
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

My vet said they eat grass when they have an upset stomach. My dog nibbles on grass sometimes, but she doesn't throw it up afterwards. Maybe some dogs do? I don't know, could your dog be eating grass that has been sprayed or anything?
