Try taking the ground wire from the battery off of the body. Use some sandpaper to get to some bare metal. Sand the end that goes on the body and put it back on.
I had the same problem one time and this took care of it after trying everything I could think of. Hope it helps.

The wire that connects to the alternator may be grounding out. On mine, the alternator must have been changed a few times allready, so the wire that was spliced and added and spliced again, was grounding out. After taking it to ford, they lied to me and said I needed to purchase the whole new connecting wire. All they did was cut the old pieced together wire down so the the new splice to the alternator was the only connection. Hope this helps.

Cables had my 92 not charging. Or bad alt. The voltage regulator in the newer alts are internal. Get the alt tested & check out all battery cables pos. & neg.
Be prepaired to spend a little green on the cable if its the pos.
Mine was $94 so be sure what the problem is before you replace things.

Next to the starter relay is the wire fron the alt that goes to the relay, the BIG wire, the fuseable links are located in the big wire and may be blown, just a good tug on the wire and if it is blown the wire will pull into. The other two wires I would first check ALL fuses under hood and under dash. If they are ok them the VOLT GAUGE may be bad.

Clean your connections . I'd take to and alt shop or auto parts to check alt & battery with truck running. You may have defective alt. I know little hard to do with no power. I have had battery go bad because of being drained by bad alt. Good luck

Power on the big wire, the yellow/white stripe wire, and the green/red stripe wire, or it won't charge. If all have power, the alt is bad, if not, check wiring harness/fuses.
