Worms? ok that sounds a little bizzare but I dunno.
Maybe you can push it down with a large piece of bread.

Although there could actually be something stuck in your throat, It may be worth me pointing out that this is a really common sympton of stress/anxiety.
I have suffered with this since I was a child and actually went for throat x-rays and everything.
It always feels like I have something stuck in my throat, and even when I don't feel anxious or stressed about anything I try to ignore it until the feeling goes away.
I would recommend going to the doctors and they will diagnose you properly. :-)

Hi,

I have felt for two weeks now like I have a hairball at the back of my throat. I have tried many things to get rid of it but nothing has really worked. It feels like it goes down momentarily when I swallow but soon comes back. I also had a couple of occasions where I coughed up a little white/yellow kind of lump of stuff (which to me was plaque). Anyway, I finally went to the Doc today and he said it's a tonsil infection which I cannot even have throat pastilles for as I am 28 weeks pregnant. Not sure he's right and it's really annoying.

Yeah, this has happened to me a couple times. It usually takes some time to get the pill all the way down ... like a couple hours, for me at least. Eating yogurt and drinking lots of water works. To make sure the pill goes all the way down to avoid the problem in the first place, you can make sure the pill doesn't go down your throat before the liquid you're taking it with. Make it all go down at once. You can do this by putting the pill on the middle of your tongue and taking a massive gulp of juice and moving your head around until you can't feel the pill at all ... it gets suspended in the liquid and you have no idea where it is ... then just take it all down and you should be good. Sometimes for me when it gets stuck at first I can immediately drink some water and swallow repeatedly ... sometimes it works. Anyway, I hope this helped.

A couple of months ago after coughing on some food I got the exact same feeling.

I was convinced there was something in my throat!

After my girlfriend held me upsidedown for a while and patted my back for several hours I decided to go to hospital.

I arrived at hospital (Newcastle, UK) and within 20 minutes I had examined and X-Rayed by a hot radiographer who smelt of booze!

The X-ray showed that nothing was in my throat and it was probably just scratched by the food.

A couple of days later the feeling had totally gone. I felt a bit silly that I went to hospital - but I pay **** loads of tax so I may as well get something back for that. o and like I said the radiographer was worth the trip.

I'm going through the same thing and my ENT seems to think it is acid reflux. I didn't think so I don't burp, and I don't feel acid in my throat but that doesn't matter. This comes from your stomach and what it does is inflame your glands and everything else in there. So you would feel as if something is there. Don't go to a GP. They will only send you to an ear nose and throat doctor. Your better off going there first. Good luck

Sometimes you think you have something stuck in your throat when you havn't. You have probably swallowed something large, (didn't chew enough) and it kind of scrapes your throat when it goes down and you think it's stuck.
If your worried then go to the doctors, better safe than sorry. It's not embarrassing to go to the doctors with that.
Make an appointment for peace of mind.

It could be Flem.. the best thing to do is try to cough it up. Swallowing anything won't help since its clinging to your throat and the water and food just slips by it taking some with it but not the hole thing. Also try cough drops and other things like peppermints those things tend to help loosen the Flem up so you can cough it up easier.. its rather disgusting I know but its life.

This sounds like something going on with your esophagus. The dr will help you to try and figure out what is going on. If this symptom gets worse before next week please go to the ER so that they can look in to what could be causing this.

Try eating a slice of dry bread. If it's something moveable, this should shift it.
