Would you commit suicide right now? PLEASE DON'T KILL YOURSELF, it's just a hypothetical question.

I am fully aware of the consequences of suicide in the Biblical sense. Again, this is a HYPOTHETICAL question.

No, because I have kids.

Probably not even if I didn't, because the nastiness of dying might exceed the nastiness or otherwise of going on living for a bit.

Probably not even if it didn't, because it is surprisingly hard to overcome the survival instinct. I did a bungee jump once, and it was incredibly difficult to force myself to jump--even with a harness! It was almost like a second person grabbing me back against my will.

(This is all quite apart from the fact that suicide is contrary to my Christian beliefs, regardless of whether you lose out by it in the next life.)

If we were able to just exit life at will, like a computer game, I suspect that some people would exit as soon as real troubles hit them and they got desperate; and others would find that since the exit facility is there to use at any time, circumstances won't get them desperate and so they'll actually cope with more than they thought they would be able to. I don't know which type I would be.

Revelation 9
5They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a man. 6During those days men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.

GOD's says aprox= those who overcome will be my children ..something saying those effects. Check Revelation.

I believe "heaven" is for real, but no one can say who will go there and who won't, therefore it is not possible to promise admittance, which means those who do are not truthful.

Both the Bible and the Coran say do not kill. That includes oneself.

In "The Revelation of Arès" God states very clearly that we cannot know who is or isn't saved.

We are advised to do good deeds, rather difficult if you no longer have your body.

If you realized the reality of Heaven, you would also realize the reality of suicide being wrong, and that you would lose eternal rewards in heaven if you committed suicide.

"Some shall receive the crown of."

*IF* heaven was real, and heaven was "heaven".

No. But I'd consider it as soon as life here became too painful.
I'd still only have this time in this life, and heaven would still be there when I'd finished with it.

Just because there's ice-cream to come I don't immediately push my steak aside.
