Ideally you shouldn't, but everyone's done it once. Rinse thoroughly!

No i would not wash your labrador with human shampoo because it is dangerous for the dog get some more dog shampoo to be on the safe side or go and ask the vets =)

No...
Spend the little extra money and buy some doggie shampoo from a pet store... what's good for human hair and skin is not necessarily good for dogs and cats...they have different ph levels, cellular structure, and immune systems...
If you really love your pet...
You won't try to save a few dollars because you're too cheap with 5 or ten bucks, or too lazy to go to the right place, buy the right thing, and bathe your dog properly...
You Lab with love you even more than he does already...if his fur and skin are treated properly...
His doggie mental state will be that much better...
But if you have to scrimp on a tight budget...
Use baby (no more tears) shampoo...

Yes, my wife used to wash our lab with human shampoo all the time. Usually she would start out with some type of medicinal shampoo for animals, to help remove ticks and such, but would finish off with some good smelling human shampoo so the dog would smell good. She would also use conditioner. We never had any problems, and our lab Margo seemed to prefer the way we did it :)

Human shampoo is made for our skin, which is more acidic than that of dogs.

We had a Basset brought into our clinic that had been washe in people shampoo and he has a rash all over and an eye infection in one eye.

Dog shampoo is made for a reason!

If you have to use it, that's fine. Keep it out of their eyes, and rinse very thouroughly.

Do not bathe them frequently with human shampoo... It will strip the oils from their fur and dry it out... So I wouldn't bathe with human shampoo except for maybe once every few months.

If you bathe your dog more than that, get a dog shampoo.

I wash my golden retriever in Dollar Store Baby Bath. No, not baby shampoo, the Baby Bath. Use it just like you would shampoo. It's great and makes they're fur sooooooo silky. I put some on a wash cloth and wash they're face good too.

Yes its ok to use human shampoo on your dog. My friend owns a grooming business and they use a baby shampoo, this way it doesn't burn the eyes.

I have used my shampoo before on my dogs, but get the Hartz shampoo for fleas and ticks, perhaps later on.

Most types of human shampoo are not tested on animals because of regulations of PETA. I would not try it because I don't know how a dog would react to human shampoo. This is not to say it's not safe, but I wouldn't risk it.

Yes, you can just be really careful not to get it in his eyes or ears. If he will let you, you can put cotton balls, very gently, in his ears to keep the soap out. I wash my Maltese in human shampoo all the time. It just doesn't deodorize as well as dog shampoo so you may have to lather, rinse, repeat a couple times!

I've washed my animals with it before, but you shouldn't really...only if they desperately need a bath and you can't get to the store. Human shampoo is too harsh for their skin. It will dry it out really easily. Animal's skin needs to remain oily. So my advice is to go to the store and buy some doggie shampoo for puppy!
