Chuck Norris!? He had his chance and couldn't! Nobody would even know Chuck if it weren't for Lee. Lee made him. I can't think of anyone who could defeat Lee, even know.

dan is whack, chuck norris is whack, (actually he's good but that's cuz he was a student of Lee) I think Bruce trained harder than most fighters do today or did when he was alive, and THAT'S what made him such a force of nature. he definetly influenced the way a lot of martial artists train today, (especially mma fighters)specifically in using weights, and running/cardio, in a martial arts goal oriented way. Bruce was the best because of his unusaual intelligence and level of dedication. If anyone today could beat him it would most likely be because of something he learned that was heavily influenced by Lees concepts, plus his determination would have to be equal.

There is a old saying - "a good big man will always beat a good little man". Bruce Lee, for all his power, skill, and knowledge was a little man by any standard. A fine boned (though muscular) chinese who was 5' 6'' and 140lbs at his heaviest. Pitted against some of the UFC monsters of today, I would have to say his chances would be slim to none.
No ; if it were in the Octagon, make that NO CHANCE IN HELL!! Sorry.

I'm really tired of these "Bruce Lee this...Bruce Lee that..." arguements and questions. Bruce Lee was a good martial artist, yes. However, his publicity and level of involvement in show buisness and media does not make him the best. Fighters evolve, they learn martial arts, and they evolve them and make them better with each passing day. There is no possible way to say that Bruce Lee was the best martial artist that ever lived. There could have been someone better than him at the time who simply chose not to expose himself to mainstream media attention. There is no way of knowing, or saying. I'm not saying he'd lose for sure, and I'm not saying he'd win. The only point I am trying to get across is that he was a good martial artist, and he contributed greatly to the mainsteam progression of martial arts. Admire him and respect him for that. Don't dishonor any other martial artists or him and a deceased human by asking if he would win or lose against anyone else. It's downright disrespectful to everyone who calls themselves a martial artist.

Bruce Lee was the original MMA fighter as far as modern martial arts is concerned. If you don't believe me, pick up any and every book he has ever written. I am a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu practitioner, and I have actually come across Jett Kun Do fighters in GRAPPLING tournaments.

hard to tell, really. it seems he's become a legend and many of the tales would never be contested. I think these new fighting styles that have been created (or developed) may put the legend bruce lee to the test.
