Atheists are not Satan worshipping demons (as far as I know, anyway). Some of them are just regular Joes, but some are not content with that anymore. There are now many atheists who feel so strongly about their beliefs that they are essentially preaching the good word of Atheism. It doesn't have any other element of religion, yet, but I wonder if it isn't headed that way.
Just step back and look at this question for example...it was directed at "theists" but a large portion of those who have responded are atheists. Why is that? What are atheists doing in the R&S section if atheism isn't a religion? Time and time again you have failed to sway a single Christian away from their faith...and yet here you are.....why?

Atheists are closed-minded people who need to see the blueprint of the universe signed by God to even consider that we didn't just appear out of nothing randomly.
You must be a Christian, since you mention demons, Satan, and hell. All those terms mean nothing to atheists, so how can they be those fictional characters, or go to a fictional place of suffering?
I'm not an atheist. I'm agnostic, but I believe in a creator....or God. I don't know God, and neither does anybody else. God did not create religion....men did. The Bible is a flawed, man-made book, riddled with contradictions and nonsense.

I was an atheist for awhile because a professor took my religion away from me. His brilliant arguments were indisputable! Depression hit hard! Many awful things followed and, eventually, I lost everything... but some very amazing things happened that led me to an enlightenment.
Now, I believe in God in a whole new way. I respect other's right to believe (or Not) in any God they choose... Buddha; I Am; Allah; God; Jehovah; The Universe...
After all, I know how painful it is having your foundation blasted out from under you! Why do people do that anyway? It serves no real purpose, really... but to prove a point. To cause such loss and anguish just to be 'right' is sad. You see, I wasn't the only one hurt. My whole family was affected by the anger that followed this loss. It spread like ugly waves that rippled out, hurting as many as possible.
But good eventually came from it too, for my faith is stronger than before.

Most of them are just average joes, I'd say. Some joes are pretty cool, and nothing would make me happier than if they would take that final step and accept that there is too, a God, Who loves them.
Then again, there ARE the "despicable demons". But God will deal with them. Some of those demons almost make me wish I did beleive in an everlasting torture pit...but then, that isn't a very Christian thought, and now, I'll have to repent.
I hope you're happy, cuz it's all your fault, you know.

and some are just put off by the whole religion thing.
when most religious goers are criminals, or worse, when theres been such a high number of priests molestations....that sends a bad signal.
lets not forget those people who have been hurt or feel betrayed because life doesnt go their way.
I think the real problem is that religious goers dont have enough of the tolerance and understanding they preech about to be patient with people who are at a differnt belief level then they are.

My opinion on atheists is that they are just people who haven't had an experience with God yet. Otherwise, they would know the Truth. There is no way they could know otherwise. They are often very intelligent, but just haven't had a personal experience with God. They aren't followers, and don't want to believe something just because others tell them it is so. The wonderful thing about atheists (I was one) is that when they do feel the Truth, they are true believers from then on. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Atheists are great. They have different points of view about things. They are always fun to talk to.
They haven't lost their way... and neither have I. It's the Christians who try their best to make me lose my way and follow them. It's them who lost their way, but do I care? No, I don't.

Free people ho know how to use their brains and form a thought, thus they are able to recognize hypocrisy when they see, hear or read it, and then make the conscious decision to break free from the other sheep who are happy to live with their herd mentality.

Atheists cannot worship a satan - since Atheists do not believe in a god, they cannot believe in a counterpart to a god!

I think they have the right to believe however they want. And I respect their opinions. I may share my thoughts with them but I would never impose on their beliefs or tell them they're wrong.
