Carol Shelby worked ford the "cobra" of the 60's . Did a stint with Dodge in th 80's And back to Ford . Basically Production vehicle with some performance parts sanctioned by Shelby.
And yes a stang is a FORD thing. Good luck on convincing your friend .

The Mustang is Ford's car. Shelby is an independent operator which in turn takes the mustangs and does body and tuning work on the car.

the mustangs come of the ford assembly line and are sent to arizona for carroll shelby to modify them
shelby had a mistake with the daytona which is a chrysler
the shelby cobra wasnt either

a mustang is a ford. honda and chrysler would NEVER make a mustang so tough and rugged and ready to kick some *** on the street.
