We can believe in who and what we choose while we are physical beings, in my book it is only those that have passed over that really know the true meaning of life. We don't choose to hurt, rob etc. because the majority of us are good beings.

Let me start by saying that I have an idea where you got this forgiveness idea from. But one question: have you tried expanding your area of vision, doing some research by yourself for yourself, try to see what obtains in some other places? Have you actually tried looking around you to discover what spiritual laws might be guiding human existence? Forget 'hand me down' knowledge. Seek and ye shall find.

If and when you do, you just might discover that the truth has been out there all this while. All its been waiting for is a conscious effort from you to grasp it. To give a hint, the Law of Reciprocal Action (commonly stated as 'you reap what you sow') has always held, still holds and will continue to hold no matter the number of people that have contrived to throw themselves into some 'spiritual ecstasy' over forgiven sins.

The way lies in getting ourselves to meet God's Set Standards and not the other way around.

Try to grasp this: Love and Justice are one and the same. If there is a Loving God, then He must necessary be a Just God. So you see, 'You Reap What You Sow' is still guiding human conduct, regardless of the number of people that chose to think differently.

You may want to get the work In the Light of Truth, the Grail Message by Abdrushin. In it you may find a more indepth answer to this and several other questions. My answers here stemmed from my own understanding of the work. You may understand it better than I did.

Good luck.

You bring up a really good point. I've had similar discussions with fundamentalist Christians before. What I believe to be true (Note: I believe) is that as a Christian if you repent, your sins will be forgiven. This however does not mean that you won't answer for them.

I've seen 'Christians' who really live it up and don't care who they hurt or what they do because they've been 'saved'. This is apostasy in the worst case. G-d's love is a parental love and just punishment is rewarded whether in this world or the next. Call it Karma if you like.

The concept of Purgatory is something for a whole other day so I will end this here.

Good in theory...but you're argument has some holes. How many people have you heard of who died SUDDENLY and didn't have the 11th hour, so to speak. Car crashes, plane crashes, strokes, heart attacks, etc. Some may have time to repent, many don't. ANd during the seconds of panic you experience while your car is crashing or your chest hurts, etc. do you really think you will have the presence of mind to follow through with repentance? Again, some people may, but why chance it?
Secondly, knowing what it feels like to have God in my life, I wouldn't WANT to live without Him for one second here on this Earth. Even if there was no Heaven or Hell (and I believe there are) I would still choose to live my life serving my God because He is so good to me.

Justice Mercy Compassion and Faith how many times does God ask for these in the Bible? Your attitude could be noticed in heaven. The Angels in Heaven rejoice over one sinner who repents of there sins on earth. What do you think they do with your comment?

It is not simply asking for forgiveness. You have to mean it. And it is hard to mean it if you have lived your life cynically. It is also hard for Christians who attend church regularly but take advantage of their fellow man, to believe that they are not going to heaven. It's all about sincerity and integrity. Making mistakes and asking for forgiveness is very different from living it up and planning to fake repentance at the end.

You don't have that quite right. Your heart must be right when you make that request. Seems to me if you've lived all your life badly, even if you "lucked out" and knew your 11th hour, your heart would not be true. So therefore, no salvation for you.
My God will not be mocked nor trifled with!

But are you not forgetting that their heaven can't be taken away from them? So according to their way of thinking, they can ask for forgiveness today then spend every minute of the rest of their life killing people but they will still go to heaven.

I think that is why so many leaders of christian countries start so many wars. They really think they can kill of thousands of people for any reason and will still go to heaven.

You might wish this was true, but God is all about righteousness and justice. He knows the intent of your heart, and the decision ultimately rest with Him. There is more to the belief in Christ than just "fire insurance".
