Yes - its biological. A woman with a 0.7 waist to hip ration is more likely to be fertile. Sorry, but that IS the reason behind it. That said, give me a lady with a less than perfect figure with a great personality over a stunning body that has an evil mind anyday - most INTELLIGENT men would agree with me on that one.

I believe it does matter at first for almost all guys. Without a good body shape it would certainly be much less likely to find an interested guy. But as the relationship grows, most (meaning probably a little more thatn half of all) guys would begin appreciating a girl's personality more than her looks. If you look at old couples, they were probably both at least somewhat attractive when they met each other but aren't quite so much anymore. This is because they now appreciate each other on a deeper level than just looks. But if you look at hollywood marriages, both people are usually quite attractive, but their relationships rarely last more than 5 years, and many times not even one This is because most relationships are based heavily on looks and not as much on more meaningful things So girls without a nice body shape are definitely less likely to go on several first dates as skinnier women but about as likely to find a meaningful relationship.
