My hubby told me about his worst-
he had just gotten back from soccer practice and had "as a joke" spray painted some cuss words on the soccer field of another team, with his idiotic friends of course. He got home and was in the shower when the bathroom door flung open. He said his dad had already taken his belt of. And his Dad came over to the shower door, opened it, grabbed my hubby out, while he was completely naked, spun him around and gave him some of the hardest licks of his life. Then he told him to get back into the shower and he would talk to him later. My man was almost 17 years old, and he said that was the last and most embarrasing spankings of his life.

Mine was when I was 13. I was helpin my mom with some dishes when I backtalked her. Mama got a good grip on me and gave me some firm smacks on my bare backside. Hurt like hell.

What's odd about this whole spanking thing -

I was spanked as a kid, and I thank my parents for doing so. My stepdad even made a paddle. Five ply wood, sanded down with three holes in the middle (so it would swing faster) and had a nice cherry oak finish on it.
I'm very proud about how I turned out. I respect my elders, I love my parents, I am disciplined. I'll be receiving three degrees in a year and will be spending a year in Japan to teach English.


My college roommate was never spanked as a kid and instead of doing homework or studying she just does drugs.


I really don't think spanking has anything to do with how you turn out. There is abuse, yes, that is most definitely wrong and will affect you. But spanks, meh. I think it's all in how the parent treats you mentally, why they spank, what they're trying to do when they spank.

For spray-painting cuss words ... a few licks of the belt on his 16 year old backside. Completely naked ... that must have been embarrassing! I've heard when the backside is still moist from the bath or shower then the licks do hurt more.

My mother beat me pretty regular starting at age 3. The last was about a month before I turned 16. She never hit my butt....only my head. Guess she thought no one would ever notice. One night when I was 14 she beat me so bad my eyes swelled shut and I threw up for several hours. I had to crawl to the bathroom for a day because I couldn't stand up. This beating started in the car (she grabbed me off the street while I was walking with my 2 cousins) where she fantasized aloud how she would kill me, dispose of me and then tell the police I was a tramp who probably got in a car with guys and they killed me. She said they would never suspect her. I don't think she knew she was saying this out loud. She would have gotten away with it, too. She was very well known as an upstanding Christian lady in our community. She was a Jekyll/Hyde. Anything would set her off. If we were visiting someone with children and they were bad kids I knew I would get a beating when we got home. She would show me just how those parents should have handled their children.

My 7th grade year my family was lower income. We qaulified for meal assistance at school (free lunch ticket). The following year, same school, I received another free lunch ticket. However things were financially much better at home this year. We did not sign up for assistance. My Father gave me a dollar everyday for lunch. 2 months into the year the school called my Father to inform him he needed to sign a waiver to continue my meal ticket or I would have to start paying. He did not know I was using a free meal ticket and pocketing the dollar he gave me for lunch every day. When I got home he was there waiting for me (he was NEVER home early). I was ordered to remove my shirt and pants and I was beaten from shoulder to ankles until I was shaking. I had black, blue and purple whelps and stripes all over the back of my body from ankles to shoulders. An hour later some marks were bleeding. My parents seperated because of it. One of his swings came around my shoulder and left marks on the right side of my neck and was visible from the front. I missed the entire week of school and laid on my front side all day for 3 days. Felt the same as a severe sunburn. Hurt to move. I did not talk for a long time after that (shock).
During that week I was locked down not for punishment but kept a secret from the rest of the world. (family and friends). I hated him for the longest time and the thought of taking anything that does not belong to me makes me shake in fear to this day (28 years later). And to catch someone stealing makes me want to rip them apart the way he did me.
Am I better for it ? No...I am shy and lack self esteem because of it. I am married with 3 children who have never been and never will be physically punished and they are good kids. Imagine that.

Mine was when I was about 6 and I had been punched in the stomach by my little brother who was playing Sinbad and he charged me right in the stomach. So I punched him back...my Mom grabbed me and walked me down the hall to my room where she spanked my rear-end about 4 times.
