I suggest you see your doctor and get a script. You have to go through the procedure to get rid of it. You can try anything on the counter or over it, might hit on something but, it may just get worse so, I suggest you get to the doc and do it right the first time before it gets to bad.

I'm not too sure on how to make it stop itching but,
you have to clean you house verry good and often to make sure it goes away and doesn't come back .......
Since it is fungi,, the spores can spread through you carpet and then someone else may contract the fungi.. Be sure to get treatment for it and don't stop too soon,or it will come back.shower at least once a day, if you have carpet vacume at the very least 3 times a week, and wash anything that can be washed with bleach... It could clear in as little as two weeks and as long as a year, so it just depends if you get proper treatment..

It's called tinea. You didn't specify the location but if you thought tinea occurred only on the scalp, you're wrong. Fungal infections, and there are MANY, depending on the location can take up to a year to resolve. Most can be resolved in much less time than that. Tinea capitis (head) and corporis (anywhere on the body) will generally begin to see improvement after 2 weeks of consistent treatment. You can use brand name antifungals to treat tinea and the itching - Micatin, Tinactin, Monistat, Lotrimin and Lamisil. If you see no improvement after 2 weeks, you should consult your doctor.

ringworm can take weeks to completely go away. Even if you don't see it anymore it can come back if you stop treatment too soon. Use an antifungal cream, I recommend Fungi-Cure. It works the best, and stops the itching faster. Good luck!
