I have Crohns disease and have had it for over 20 years and i also do long distance running,,, if your having a flare up you might want to take it easy and you can become fatigued easily,, they say the Nicotine Patch helps with ulcerative colitus, (Very bad for Crohns though)ask your doctor first..some times running with a light pad helps with any possible accidents and think out ;your route so you know where all the bathrooms are,, ie MacDonolds. Wendys etc..

My wife has UC, and she has no problem while running or exercising. She does have to be cautious when in a flare because it is easy to get dehydrated.
