He's not able to do what he wants because of who his parents are. I think thats kind of sad. Anyway give opinons on whether or not you think it was a good decision to leave him out of Iraq.

Don't know if I feel sorry for him,but I can understand some of his angst...for being left behind! I'm certain he would rather be out there with his mates...in the field! However? He could present an uncertain danger to his troop, simply by being among them! Even though he will quite unlikely ever get a stab at the Throne...He is still going to be a target of opportunity-to any terrorist or hostile element! His capture could badly affect the decision's and policie's of the Army...very negatively! But I do feel some pity for him. It's like being the only Kid on the block...who didn't get invited to the Birthday Party, but all of his Friend's-got to go!!!

Well, unlike Picawhore up there I do think he wanted to go. It is what he's trained for and a career I think he wants to remain in. With the monarchy being little more than a figurehead he could actually go out and contribute vs being a talking head on newscasts.

I do think it was the right decision though. To send him, even if he renounced his claim to the throne, would only put a large number of troops in danger while placing his protection above the mission.

I feel sorry for the guys serving next to him because it seems like they are serving with a man that has a big "Capture Me Terrorist" sign on him. He is most likely a good soldier and serving for a good reason but it seems like he would just be a big target regardless.

I think it is the right decision he would prove to be more of a hassle then an asset in the long run! I know he is trying to prove something, but there are easier ways to do that then go to war.

I mean I think he really wants to go help his guys, and gals. But he probably knows that it is best if he serves at home, and not in danger. What I don't understand is why can't he just deannounce his succesion to the throne. So he won't be a target.

No. He's a prince. It sucks for him that it happened, but he should have seen it coming. If he was in Iraq, it would open his unit to constant attacks.

The war in Iraq is not a fairy-tale. It was an advertising. Poor rich child

I don't feel sorry for him. Think about it...he probably knew he wasn't going to be able to fight but made a big deal about it anyway and figured he could just stay home and party but people would think highly of him bc he wanted to go fight. It now backfired and he has to do community work and stay home while his troop fights!
I have no sympathy for him

No, I am sorry for the actual fools who had to go, fight and die for some imperialist lie.
