I already posted this but people stopped answering it. So, which do you believe in, creation or evolution? I don't really believe in God and tend to think evolution is true. Give some reasons why you think your right in believing what you do. Don't get mad people, this is just for fun.

P.S. I've already heard "because the Bible says so."

P.P.S. "Because Darwin said so" is just as bad.

By "creation" I mean the opposite of evolution. That life came into being exactly like it is now, as separate species. I'm fine if you think that God uses evolution, thats what my mom believes.

The Theory of Evolution cannot be proven. The fossil record reveals that different and very complex life forms appeared suddenly and fully developed. As one professor of natural science commented: “Whales, bats, horses, primates, elephants, hares, squirrels, etc., all are as distinct at their first appearance as they are now. There is not a trace of a common ancestor, much less a link with any reptile, the supposed progenitor.” Are there any fossils of giraffes with necks two thirds or three quarters the accepted length? No, there are not. The truth of the matter is as stated at Genesis 1:25: “God proceeded to make the wild beast of the earth according to its kind and the domestic animal according to its kind and every moving animal of the ground according to its kind. And God got to see that it was good.

I believe in both, BUT... you have to define what you mean by "creation", and I define that as "the Big Bang" and everything that happened afterwards. Whether or not a supernatural force was involved in that I don't know - I'm only a man, and I wasn't there when the whole thing started - the ONLY way to be 100% sure using scientific reasoning - having EVIDENCE.

I believe that evolution exists because I understand how DNA works. I understand that exploding stars send out gamma rays that knock out sections of DNA that will cause mutations in the genetic material of an organism, and lead to entirely new species over time. Most mutations are deleterious (i.e., BAD) but some of them are advantageous (i.e., "good"). The National Academy for the Advancement of Science has accepted evolution as a completely valid SCIENTIFIC theory (which has more weight than a "conventional" theory because it is backed up by a great deal of evidence). Those who say that evolution "has no evidence" are denying reality - it doesn't have any evidence that they believe in, which is NOT the same thing. They distort what is said about evolution, but they are clinging to a religious belief system and ignoring logic. I say if God created evolution, then human beings should stop telling God how to create the universe based on their own arrogant human prejudices, i.e. "I don't think its true therefore it isn't true". By the same "logic" I can say that the Jolly Green Giant is real, because "I believe it is real", which will NEVER fly in real science, because in real science you need EVIDENCE and the creationists don't have ANY - they only claim that they do. All of the evidence reported by them has been refuted - they are clinging to what they BELIEVE - not what is actually backed up by those annoying FACTS.

I believe in both. I don't know who Adam and Eve were exactly or necessarily when thy lived, but I don't think I am delusional in believing in God.

When I am prompted by the Holy Ghost to do things and I follow those promptings, they turn out to work to my advantage every time. If it were a once in a blue moon that that kind of thing happened, I could write those experiences off as coincidence, but they happen far too often to not consider that there must be some source other than myself helping direct my life.

The other thing is though, I think it is impossible to to ignore the fossil record. Although you could argue that the fossil record is merely a record of the extinction of species, we know scientifically that the earth is about 4 billion years old and that Dinosaurs lived on the earth. God gave us a brain and we should use it. Adam and Eve could not possible have been the first beings to inhabit the planet.

I think it is possible too, that the original scripture stories were not written by people who didn't have the ability to understand the universe, rather written for people who could only understand on a more basic, representational level.

God is not a being that is greater than man. We are God. Together we create and destroy the things we want.
Like an artist, whom has to start a picture. But as he progresses, the image begins to evolve. He becomes the Creator while being the evolution process.
Like relationships between people. When people want other people, they will chose to create a relationship. Thus starting the evolution process of that particular relationship.

So, the answer to your question is; When people chose to believe in an Answer, they start a Process. An Answer and Process that becomes existant either by himself or another man.

Why not both? Creationist believe that some intelligent being such as god, usually its god, they want it to be god and not aliens, started life on earth.
Evolution simply is the change of traits from one generation to the next which would lead to such complex changes as a new species.
I don't see how they can't coexist. One has little to do with the other since creation theory should be studied in a philosphy class while evolution in a science class.
Maybe aliens came to earth and brought over some plants and animals and after a few million years evolved to better sui earths conditions.

I believe in creation, for both personal and non-personal reasons.
1. Polonium halos left in natural granite deposits world wide. This answer is a scientific truth that no evolutionist has ever been able to explain with their version of how granite was formed. There is a book by a fellow with the last name"BEHE" called "Darwin's Black Box", the book is about the living cell and what was inside , when men were given the knowledge to look inside. I recommend reading the Christian Bible also!

P.S. Personally it would take me more faith to believe in evolution, than it would in intelligent design.

I believe like you that God made different species of everything, after their kind. But I don't believe all life of both plants and animals and sexes and the diversity of life forms came from one single cell of life.

The belief of evolution I adhere to is micro-evolution. But the latter which Darwin expounded is macro-evolution. The cofounder of the evolution theory also believed in microevolution, Alfred Wallace.

Whatever happened to believing in both?
I don't really care that much, but the evolution crowd has more physical proof so I believe them more. That's not to say that there isn't a higher power who used evolution as a means to create the world. Only problem is there is no proof positive or negative toward the existence of a higher power.

microevolution exists, thats a fact. Its why you need a flu shot every year. Its also why there are different breeds of dogs. If you continue to see minor changes in the building blocks, eventually something new will come forth. I don't understand why anyone would say evolution does not happen when the evidence is so strong and clear.

Evolution because there is evidence that is too great to be ignored. However, I don't believe in anything dogmatically. Creationism is just a name someone coined to make religious belief seem to have some scientific legitimacy and grounds. The fact is that it doesn't. Creationism is based on 'faith' and not fact. It is a blind stab in the dark in an attempt to flash a light on our universe and it's origins. However, if fails miserably. Creationism isn't even a decent hypothesis.
