Dark scars are not permanent if you know how to treat them. White scars are permanent. Depending on how severe they are, you can start with an over the counter skin fade creme that can be found in any drugstore. If that doesn't work, you can see a dermatologist who can 1. provide specialty cremes like hydroquinone which are mild acids to fade scars or 2. apply a light acid directly to your skin to make it peal and take the scar tissue off with it. Want to know the easiest and cheapest way? Sunbathe! A mild sunburn will cause the scars to fade or peal off, depending on how intense it is. You can achieve this result with only 30 minutes under the bright sunshine. Make sure you moisturize after tanning, you don't want to become a prune. Lastly, be patient. Scars will almost always fade with time. Cremes just help speed up the process a little.
