I'm a big fan of the mutt. I've found that mixed breeds have fewer congenital health problems and you can make up great names for the breed.
I have a pug/terrier mix. I call her a tug because Perrier is trade-marked.
If I were to get a purebreed pup I would choose a french bulldog they're like sassy four-legged bats that don't hang from your ceiling.

My favorite breed are chihuahuas. I have a 4 pound brown female chihuahua named Huggy Bear. I also have a ten pound ChiRussell (chihuahua-jack russell) She is the cutest dog, I have ever seen. She is white with a brown spot on her back and tail and a brown circle around her left eye. She is sooo smart (jack russell part) and she does tricks. =0}

I'm going with cvegas and giving the bully breeds another shout out...I am the proud owner of an Am Bulldog/Staffy mix who is everything and more than I could ask for in a pet. Not for everyone, but if they are for you, you'll never have another breed!

Golden Retriever....just ask Oldie Goldie laying here in the floor. 10 years old...sweet as sugar. The first year she was a maniac and ate a big hole in the kitchen wall. But she is a faithful friend. And as smart as a whip.
I also have a special place in my heart for Beagles (Snoopy) and German Shepards (Boomer). Very good and loyal dogs.

i love miniature schnauzers!!!!
i have a little puppy, and HER name is Tiki. Her name came from the tiki torches in my yard. When I first got her, she was just a tincy bit bigger than your hand. (I was 11, so my hand might be a bit smaller than yours). She was 8 weeks old when I got her, (along with my dad). Now she's like 8 or 9 months old. She was born on August 26, 2006. She has a long snout, kind of pointy little ears, blackish/silver body, white chest, white paws, white snout, white eyebrows, long tongue, and a short/stubby little tail.
She now scratches the front door (most of the time!) when she needs to go potty. She still whimpers in her crate quite a bit. After a month of having her, I taught her to sit, stay, and lay down. An important thing I really need to teach her is to come. She doesn't come when I tell her to, gets me mad sometimes. She gets very scared easily. Many times I've spoooked her for fun. Then she'd get all low and sad, and leans on my leg for comfort. Then I feel really bad.
my cute Tiki chases me, and I chase her. She developed her speed really fast. Having her in October, she was 2 months old. Tiki would actually trip on the leaves on the ground!! She would stumble on her own legs. She would get very worried and scared if I am gone or out of her sight. She'd make a little whimper and soon will find me.
We play lots of hide and seek games. I'd tell her to stay, (she will). Then I'd walk off and hide somewhere. Once in my hiding place, I'd yell her name. She'd come running, barking, looking for me. And in a matter of short minutes, she'd find me.
Tiki likes to follow me. Tiki has a bond with me. Tiki trusts me.
SHE'S STANDING RIGHT THERE IN THE DOOR WAY STARING AT ME!!!!!!
thank you to people who read this!!!!! That's my little Tiki.

Siberian Huskies. Smart, Loyal, Strong and Beautiful. The only thing is that they need a strong hand in trainging and are known for taking off on people.
