Things you can do to stack the odds in your favor:

1 - Ask your dentist or hygienist to show you the proper techniques to brush and floss during your next visit with them. You need the right techniques to do a thorough job.

2 - Make sure you brush during the critical times: Before you go to bed, after each meal.

3 - Don't feed the stinky germs so they won't grow so much. Avoid sugary foods, and that includes mints or sugar-sweetened gum-- Germs that stink grows explosively on sugar. Chew sugarless gum instead.

4 - Have regular dental checkups to make sure you don't have rotten teeth. Stinky germs hide in rotten teeth. A checkup will also catch other problems that might contribute to your situation.

There are other things you can do, but that's what's off the top of my head. Good luck.

You may have periodontal disease, which can be treated. If it has been a long time since your last dental hygiene appointment, you may have bacteria, calculus deposits, and plaque growing deep under your gums. Do you notice bleeding when you brush?? Bleeding is a warning sign that you have an infection in your mouth, I am a dental hygienist and I recommend that you make a dental appointment right away, Be sure to ask questions about periodontal disease, pocket depth, bone loss and how you are doing with your oral hygiene at home, Please, go soon. When you have periodontal disease, you don't have pain, but you have other warning signs especially bad breath and bad taste. Hope this helps!!

Gargle and rinse with hydrogen peroxide before brushing at night before bed. Do this from time to time.. perhaps three or so times per week. Make sure not to swallow any peroxide. Floss your teeth before you brush everytime you brush. Brush your tongue and go as far back as you can until it's totally pristine clean everytime you brush. Also, make sure you never allow yourself to get constipated. A clogged bowel track can and will cause bad breath. Keep your system cleaned out. I cannot stress that enough. Thats a great rule for good health in general. Good health starts from the inside/out.

Sometimes, halitosis is a direct result of bad teeth or from sinuses dripping into the throat. If you have neither, then brush more often, including your tongue, but lightly. Try using mouthwash also. Flossing will help also because it removes food particles from in between the teeth, which can cause mouth odor as well.

You might have a gum infection (gingivitis) caused by neglecting teeth cleaning and flossing which lets food collect between your teeth. The food rots and smells bad and supports bacterial infections.

Go for a tooth cleaning and ask the dentist what else you need to do.

Our breath tends to be more yucky in the summer because we tend to eat less than in the winter time. Yup, eating plays a major role in the smelly-ness of your breath. If you eat regularly and still have not-so-hot breath, consider using a tongue scraper. I bought one for my boyfriend and it was like $3 at a drug store. He uses it every night before he goes to bed and the results have been just awesome!

Floss, brush after every meal. Use a tongue scraper. Brush your tongue, roof of mouth, cheeks. Use a mouthwash that doesn't have alcohol, it can dry out your mouth and cause bad breath. If you drink coffee, brush after or rinse. If you smoke, quit or brush after or rinse. If it still persits, see your dentist to rule out tooth decay or gum disease. Good luck!

You should brush 3 times a day if possible, floss twice a day, and use mouthwash every time you brush.

You may have halitosis or something like that... go see a doctor or a dentist if this is a concern. Professional help is always better in cases where normal dental care is of no avail...
