The rite itself has this discourse from Jesus. When Jesus 2 finished these words, 3 he left Galilee and went to the district of Judea across the Jordan.
2
Great crowds followed him, and he cured them there.
3
Some Pharisees approached him, and tested him, 4 saying, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any cause whatever?"
4
5 He said in reply, "Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female'
5
and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'?
6
So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no human being must separate." (Matthew 19,1-6)

Peace and blessings!

I know they gloss over the part about women serving their husband and keeping their yaps shut in Church.
Actually they dont read any of the bible in most wedding ceremonies.
If you request a passage they will read it, but there really is not much in there that would fit well.

Now for the matters you wrote about: It is good for a man not to marry.

Many times 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 are read (love is patient, love is kind etc...) this passage is in the context of us using our spiritual gifts but is applicable to marriage as well.

Genesis 2:24 is often read as well

That depends upon what passages the couple want read.
Often, Ephesians 5:19-33 is read, or Genesis 2:21-24, or Eccl. 4:9-12

I Cor 13:4-8

4 Love is long-suffering and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up, 5 does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. 6 It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails.

Nowhere does the Bible state that a woman can leave/divorce her husband because of abuse & remarry. If one is saved she can bring the whole family to the LORD. This true. But one family member refuses, then that member will not be saved If the spouse leaves because of adultery, is that spouse then freed to remarry, or is that still under the: if you remarry that's adultery principle Yes! if you remarry that's adultery principle May God Bless you

the whole vows thing...I don't think that is in the Bible, right? I'm not sure...but usually from what I've seen, they have a book open lying on top of the open bible.
