If using Windows XP just right click on the zip file and choose Extract All option and follow the wizard.

If using Windows 98, 2000, etc download winzip. It zips and unzips files and is designed for Windows but does not belong to Microsoft.

This is part of Windows so you don't need to install any programs to do this.

I recommend you get WINRAR first, seems to me that you don't have it installed, hence, you won't be able to do anything with the files. Next, assuming you have WINRAR just double click your ziped file and it will open up the contents. Second, decide where you want to 'extract' such contents. Whenever you are asked to where to extract, you can have c:\my documents and settings\desktop, then create a folder to extract everything there. Example: c:\my documents and settings\desktop\newfolder.

When you click on them, I believe something will pop up and prompt you to extract them. All you need to do is follow the onscreen instructions and you should be able to use the files shortly.
