You are my HEROES!
I teach my daughter and my classes what heroes are.
NOT teachers.
NOT sports figures.
NOT pop singers.

They MIGHT be role-models, but those that risk their lives for us, even potentially, are our heroes, and always will be.

I shake the hand and introduce my baby to every one I meet.

Thank you, from a democrat, rare as that is. You are doing a wonderful and lasting job over there in a difficult situation.

My FULL support (unqualified).

Yes, you may. However, as a civilian, you are the one who should be saluted by them. Civilians never salute the military - because our country was founded on the principal that our military is subservient to civilian control, thanks to the Founding Fathers.

Ronald Reagan was the first to salute the military, but it was an empty theatrical gesture with no precedent.
