i want 2 get pink highlights but i don't want 2 go 2 a salon n pay $70+ so where can i buy the stuff 2 do it myself?!

try "special effects" hair color, it`s much better than "manic panic" (i`ve been coloring my hair for years & years, & trained as a cosmetologist, so i have experience inthis area)...the color lasts longer & is more vibrant...if u want the color to really stand out, u will need to bleach your hair first, especially if it`s dark blonde/brown/black...i recommend "manic panic" flash lighning kit for this step (u can find it at hot topic or spencer gifts in your local mall, or ebay, or here http://www.manicpanic.com)..."special effects" is usually found at hot topic, ebay, & i believe u can order from their website http://www.specialeffectsusa.com/hair_dye.html "atomic pink" is the color i`m using now, it`s great!!! i did my color 2 months again & it`s still bright!!!

When you're choosing a color so risky as bright pink I think it would be best for you to just shell out the $70 to a salon. It will look better and in the long run you will be happier with the turnout. If it you do it yourself, chances are you are going to mess something up and pink is not a very forgiving color.

You can go to pretty much any beauty supply stores(Ulta, Sally's...etc) and the dyes are usually cheap and very easy to use.
My hair is all pink at the moment, and I use Adore dye for bright colors, it's cheap(around four bucks), works great, and lasts long. If your hair is darker you usually have to llighten it to give the pink a better effect, but be aware of the risks and possible damage you can do to your hair before you consider bleach! :)

If you do it yourself you might regret it. There are a lot of people who dyed hair themselves and really hate it. Your hair might change to a different color. Going to the salon is worth it. I know a lot of people who got highlights and they weren't even in strips. It was every where and it looked more like they polka dotted it. There is this one thing they advertised on tv. I think it's from that conair brand. that might work. You could probaly get that from walmart.

If you're blonde, pink highlights will look great. I reccomend that if its your first time though, you should get semi-permanent dye, It'll was out in about two months. You can go to Ulta and they can sell you some very cheap.

You can do it by yourself if you are blond, but if you require any bleaching, the $70 will not hurt as much as when your hair is falling out from not doing it right.

manic panic hair dye. you will prob want to bleach the hair first and then add the dye. this company makes all different kinds of crazy colors.
ive seen it sold at hot topix and spencers. or get online.
