find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Mmm not likely 30 lbs. Hon I have lost 30 lbs in the past and need to again since I am expecting in a week.
To safely lose weight and to be assured to keep it off you need to add exericise about 45-1hr per day (M_F weekends off for example) Also a diet in moderation
You really can have anything you want but for me my diet consisted of boneless skinless chicken breasts, lots of vegetables, rice, whole wheat breads, no fried foods and very few sweets.
Summer is great since all fruits and vegetables are in peak season and you can easliy find them and fit them into your diet
Also because it will be warm grilling is an excellent cooking method.
I would recommend that you lose 24 lbs that is close enough no?
That is 2lbs per week, you may be able to lose mrore since the extra 5 lbs probably would be water.
To keep you sane if you have a lot of food vices is allow yourself one fat day (fast food only one time per month) per week, Something that you love but doesn't fit into your new lifestyle
You and me will be in the same boat this summer. So good luck to us both.

Vegetables and fruit, water, green tea, fiber. I eat soymilk with Fiber One cereal - it's a high dose of carbohydrates but it fills you up, gives you more than half you daily needs for fiber, and fiber helps you digest your food and lose weight. Cut out white flour products like white bread, pasta, and rice, and choose whole wheat products. You should probably cut out red meat, too, and supplement it with fish, poultry, and beans. And try to exercise a little bit everyday. The weight should come right off if you do this. Reduce your calories, too. There are plenty of websites that give your daily caloric needs if you're trying to lose weight. For instance, when I started to eat better to lose weight, my calorie requirements went from 2000 to 1600. 400 calories less per day doesn't feel much different when you're filling up with vegetables and other healthy foods.

try skipping breakfast or drink half cup of non fat milk
(make it routine, one day skip one day drink half cup of milk)

for lunch eat something small like a hotpocket, and eat half, and if you have the power in you to do it throw the other half away- drink one cup of juice with that meal and maybe 1 or 2 crackers. (on weekends try to eat a more balanced meal but not over filling)

for dinnner eat a balanced meal not too much not too little

no snacks beween any meal or at night maybe another half cup of non fat milk
