it means ur eyes will be blinded by sin and the Spirit will not dwell with you if u do such things ...

This scripture, from 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 can be difficult to understand in the King James version. Some words mean completely different things today than they meant 500 years ago. You may want to find some deeper meaning in more modern versions. Here are a few:

Amplified Standard-
9Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality,

10Nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortioners and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.

11And such some of you were (once). But you were washed clean (purified by a complete atonement for sin and made free from the guilt of sin), and you were consecrated (set apart, hallowed) and you were justified [pronounced righteous, by trusting] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God.

But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.


This passage has a lot to say in its detail, but the message is clear:
1. Paul (the author) was speaking to a group of individuals whom had already become disciples of Jesus.
2. As a disciple, all the evils that would prevent us from inheriting the kingdom are washed away by the blood of Jesus.

As to what evils are discussed in these verses, the words vary depending on translation, but, as you can see, they cover physical, emotional, verbal, emotional and sexual sins. I personally do not believe that Paul intentionally chose these specific sins to explain the only things that would keep us from heaven. I think that he tried to show that apart from God, we are all a mess, at best.

We, by our nature, are sinners. We cannot earn our way to heaven, It is by grace that we can draw near to God. This grace covers over our sins, and cleans us as if we were new again.

For a little more context on this, I would suggest reading the eight verses prior to these. Paul is speaking of believers suing other believers. His point, in my opinion, is that God's grace in dealing with our sins should motivate us to do the same with our brothers and sisters. No, you shouldn't let yourself be run over and taken advantage of, but you should work with another brother to overcome any disputes the two of you may have.

Paul is making a point. Just as God has forgiven us for such horrible offenses we have committed, we too should forgive those around us.

Take a look at Chapter 6 as a whole, not just these three verses, and I think this may come more into light for you.

That before we became Christan's that was some of our old ways, but since we ar washed and sanctified we are set free from those sin's.
v. 11 and such "were" some of you..meaning we no longer "are" if those things are in our life's we need to check and see our relationship with Jesus Christ the Lord.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God

It means that the unsaved will not receive heaven, will not be a part of the body of Christ.

and it says that when we are cleaned from sin, through accepting the grace of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we are sanctified(set apart) and justified (righteousness) through Him.

even though we were sinners like the ones listed above, we can each be saved and heirs to Jesus.,

edit: wisdom, why out of all that scripture did you pick effeminate to explain? for many sins are listed there.

Jesus said that to see the Kingdom of God you must be born again. So fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, etc... nor thieves, covetors, drunkards, revilers, extortioners, etc.. aren't born again. They don't inherit the Kingdom of God practicing these iniquities.

These behaviors are abiding in sin. One has to realize they are a sinner & repent to God, confessing Jesus Christ ones Lord & Savior. Believing in ones heart Jesus shed His blood for remission ones sins and raised from the dead for ones justification. Born of God, born of His Spirit, cleansed by His Blood, joint heirs with King Jesus, part of the family of God.

God saves us from our sins. His blood cleanses us. We are born of God.

Then we no longer are those old sinners, but washed in His Blood, and are raised up with Him in High places in Christ Jesus. When we accept His atonement for our sin, we are made the righteousness of Christ. God sees us as the righteousness of Christ and not those old sinners. We have been brought out of darkness into His Marvelous Light. We were blind (spiritually) but now we see (spiritually).

Paul is listing some of the sins that are common to all of mankind. People who have turned from those lifestyles are being encouraged not to "carouse" with those who still do. So as not to fall back into what they came out of. Sanctified means to daily conform to the lifestyle of Christ. A lifestyle of humility and graciousness. Justified means that in the eyes of God we are pure.

its basically saying some of the major characteristics of sin, then saying that we had those, but now that we are washed by the blood of the lamb, and sanctified (set apart for a Holy purpose), and justified by the sacrifice of Christ, we now can inherit the Kingdom of God :)

It's a listing of people that will not make it to heaven.
However, since the letter is written to a Christian Church, we understand that Jesus Christ changes lives.
The Corinthian Church was full of people who were no longer living those prohibited lifestyles / behaviors.

They key words are, "...and of such WERE some of you..."

It means that if you are not SAVED - if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior then you will be judged according to your sins and since we all sin, none of us will get into Heaven. But, those of us who have accept Jesus Christ as our personal savior are justified by grace through the shedding of His blood. He took the punishment for our sins and thereby we are clean just by believing on Him who God sent. We can not work our way into heaven by being good and we can't pray our way into Heaven nor can or friends or family pray us into heaven, and we can't buy our way into Heaven. The only thing we can do to get to Heaven is to repent of our sins and accept Jesus Christ as our personal savior.

This might make it clearer:

Jhn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.


Jhn 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.


Jhn 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.


Jhn 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Basically it means that those who do not uphold those and other principles and standards that God sets out for humans will not be granted the privilege of experiencing his Kingdom or Paradise.
