Chocolate contains powerful stimulants that lead to a sudden surge of energy right after it's eaten. Second, chocolate contains large amounts of a chemical called phenylalanine, which produces feelings of happiness. Also, if the other chemicals weren't enough, the aroma of chocolate contains another mood-influencing substance called pytazine. When inhaled, pytazine activates the pleasure center of the brain, leading to feelings of contentment.

Finally, You also mentioned sugar cravings, sugar gives the body a big boost of adrenaline and leads to feelings of euphoria and high energy. The high soon topples, however, leading to a slump in emotion and energy levels. And the cravings for more sugar begin.

You are not overweight now but this habit could lead to "Emotional Eating/Binge Eating" that includes all types of its own problems. If you are unable to stop, best to go to your local library and get a book on eating problems. I like the following book: The Yo-Yo-Syndrome Diet by Doreen L. Virtue.

Best of luck.

Many grocery stores are now carrying 100 calorie packs of cookies, crackers, etc. Those could help keep track of how much your consuming while making you think before getting another pack.

You could also try eating food that is more filling. Soups are best. Meats, cheeses, and nuts are also good because of the high concentrations of protein but they are also higher in saturated fats.

have you had your blood tested? could be underylying of diabetes.
try to choose healthier snacks, like fruit (for your sweet cravings..Apples, oranges, plums, strawberrys, pineapple...) popcorn instead of chips and fresh veggies with a dip would even be healthier than chips or choc...also alot of willpower and determination to overcome your cravings. They will soon pass* Go for a walk or walk up and down stairs, ride a bike, dance..do something other than reaching for your cravings~*
Best of luck*

i think that you need to first not buy these foods in the store. and second, try not to eat out, b/c you dont kno what is in the food. and third, eat more fruit, its sweet, and you wont feel totally bad if you dip some strawberries in some C-H-O-C-O-L-A-T-E!!!

This will sound SUPER weird, but use whitening strips. They make your teeth super sensitive and it hurts to eat so you don't eat as much. Or chew gum =)
