Oh, dear. This is actually a rather common mistake.
You see, it's the Roman _Emperors_ who were / are gods. Not the Roman bureaucrats.
Worshipping Pontius Pilate is sort of like praying to the Secretary of Agriculture and then expecting rain.

First of all if you studied the Bible at all, Pontius Pilate did not want to crucify Jesus. The only reason he did it was because he feared a massive rebellion that would end with Pilate's head in a basket in front of Emperor Augustas.

OK, this is the first time I hear about praying to a dead historic person.
I might not know much about religion, but I think that humans are no gods: that is why nothing happened when you prayed to Pilate.

If Pilate didn't have time for Jesus, why would he have time to listen to you 2000 years later?

Try again - maybe Pontious was asleep.
Oh, right - he's been dead a few thousand years.
Better pick another name.
