As Abdul stated already, you won't have to convert to Islam and if this man tells you that you will have to, he is not being truthful with you. Muslim men can marry Christian, Jewish and Muslim women. The only potential issue you may have is that children from that marriage are expected to be raised as Muslims. Seriously consider THAT before you decide if you want to marry him. If it is not something you are willing to do, then I would suggest not pursuing the relationship. If you can accept that and you at least respect Islam, a marriage like that can be very happy and successful. I was not Muslim when my husband and I married, but I have since converted.

Be very cautious. Listen to the information that you are getting here from both sides. DON'T jump into anything. Find out how deep seated his beliefs are. it does make a difference.

Well, In Islam a muslim man is allowed to merry a christian or jew so you can be any of that, dont tell me your lover is forcing you to be a muslim. There is no compulsion in Islam, he is going against Islam then but you should research Islam like on

its a great religion, if you deeply apply it, very peaceful!,
I hope that helps!

Read both sides of being part of Islam.
I lost a friend (she disappeared competely, abandoning all her family and friends after getting involved with an Islamic man).
My family escaped Islam in the 1950s.

Seriously, not just one side. Both, all, etc. Be informed. Be just.

Read them in context in a PRE-911 version of the said books. Your boyfriend will say they are out of context and misquoted. READ THEM IN CONTEXT. Buy or download the books yourself, rather than let him get you copies.

Make sure everyone who loves you knows where you are at all times before you share this with him.

I'm an atheist, my girlfriend is a Christian. I don't ask her to fake my beliefs, she doesn't ask me to fake hers. That would be utterly silly.

You really can't fake a belief. Convert to islam because you believe in it, not because a guy asks you to. In the long run, that will never work.

You do what's right for you, no one else can make this decision for you. I personally would not become a Muslim.
