In St. John chapter 3, the conversation between Jesus and the relegious leader, Nicodemus, ends with "except a man be born again, he cannot enter the Kingodm of Heaven." Why must we be Born Again? How are we Born Again? Hint: Read Romans 10:9-10

It is also a warning to the fallen angels that to come to earth in any other way than through woman's womb (born of water, *a woman's water breaks signaling the birth process* and the holy spirit * which causes the breath of life) is a capital offense. Read the book of Jude (about 3 pages) . It says that the angels left their jobs and their place of habitation and came down here without God's permission. We were born /created once before Satan's rebellion. And since we didn't cut the mustard the first time , we must be "born again" so God can test us to see if we cut the mustard this time. What you are saying is true but this also is a truth for the deeper student of God's word. God bless

The phrase "born again" literally means "born from above." Nicodemus had a real need. He needed a change of his heart--a spiritual transformation. New birth, being born again, is an act of God whereby eternal life is imparted to the person who believes (2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:3; 1 John 2:29; 3:9; 4:7; 5:1-4, 18). John 1:12,13 indicates that "born again" also carries the idea "to become children of God" through trust in the name of Jesus Christ.
The question logically comes, "Why does a person need to be born again?" The Apostle Paul in Ephesians 2:1 says, "And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins..." To the Romans in Romans 3:23, the Apostle wrote, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." So, a person needs to be born again in order to have their sins forgiven and have a relationship with God.

Humans cannot go to heaven with bodies of flesh and blood. 1 Cor. 15:50 & John 3:16

Only persons who have been born again thus becoming God's sons can share in the heavenly kingdom. 1 John 1:12, 13

A person is born again when they leave their earthly body and are born again in a new spiritual body to be in heaven with God.

Only 144,000 will go to heaven. This is a limited number of specially chosen humans that will rule with Christ Jesus in God's Kingdom for 1,000 years.

However, a person who is not born again can be saved. There is another group that will not go to heaven and will thus not need to be born again.

The thought of people living on earth as subjects of God's Kingdom may seem strange to many Bible believers who think of all those saved as being in heaven. The Bible shows that only a limited number go to heaven and that those who will live forever on earth will be a great crowd of unlimited number. (Psalm 37:11, 29; Revelation 7:9; 14:1-5) That God's Kingdom under Christ will fill the earth and reign over it is shown by a prophecy in the Bible book of Daniel.

A person who is filled with holy spirit does not also need to be born again. Luke 1:15 Regarding John the baptizer Jehovahs angel said: "He will be filled with holy spirit right from his mothers womb."

YOU CANNOT BE BORN AGAIN UNTIL YOU ASEND TO HEAVEN.

Many on earth who claim to be born again have an inaccurate understanding of the concept. Accepting Jesus as your Saviour and receiving the holy spirit does not equal being born again.

God requires us to search the scriptures and gain an accurate understanding of the scriptures. The scriptures are very clear on this matter and there should be no room for confusion.

Beware of false prophets that will mislead.

Roman 10,9-10 is the Protestant and Fundamentalist doctrine of salvation. Many of your answerers have satisfactorily explained what born again means so I will explain what your citation from Romans really means.

Faith justifies initially, but works perfect and complete our salvation. If all it takes to be saved is "to confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead" (Romans 10,9) then why must I change? Oh sure, I should change my sinful ways. I should try to please God. But if I don't does it really matter? My salvation is assured?

Salvation is a process of perseverance through faith, hope and love. Nowhere in Scripture does it say that one is justified or saved by "faith alone." On the contrary, man is not justified by faith alone. A person is justified by faith and works acting together, which comes solely from God's divine grace. Faith alone never obtains the grace of justification. Also, the word "justified" is the same word Paul uses for justification in Romans 4,3 in regard to Abraham (so Protestants cannot argue James is not referring to "justification" in James 2,24 unless they argue Paul wasn't either in Romans 4,3).

(See also: Luke 24,47; Acts 2,38, 3,19, 17,30; John 3,36; 2 Corinthians 10,15; 13,15; Galatians 5,6)

Peace and every blessing!

This is referring to a spiritual rebirth, not a physical one. Once you are "born again", you are basically starting over. Old things (sins) are past; you essentially become a new person. The outside (physical body) may be the same, but the inner man (spirit) is new.

Just like with a physical birth, one has to grow up with a spiritual birth. You start out as a baby, totally dependent on your guardian (God), and grow to learn to step out on your faith. We learn to walk by faith, talk by faith, and eventually are weaned to eat the spiritual foods.

My explanation does little to explain this, but I hope it helps.

Adam messed up his spirit and passed it to all of us.
Gotta get that spirit Recreated (Born-Again) to make Heaven your Home.
Jesus is the Only One Who can Recreate it for you.
Jesus has to have your Permission to do it (save you).
Ditto.........

Later: up above me, Water and Spirit

Water---Faith (the substance GOD uses to Recreate you)

Spirit---The Holy Spirit uses the Substance of Faith and does the Actual Recreation of you (a spirit living in a body)
