vw uses the low end of big name electronics [it simply doesn't recognise the recording format] lexus knows it's customers are smart enough to be able to burn their own discs. vw isn't even third world class.

For some reason, some CD players can't play burned CDs and others can. Trust me it isn't the VWs fault!

Because home burned CDs weren't as popular when the car was designed, only about half of all new CD players could play them. (My VW will play home-burned CD-Rs, but not CD-RWs)

Is it an MP3 cd? If so then theres your problem. If its just a regular cd you burned, ive recognized that cd-r brands work better than others when I had my monsoon in my GTI. (HP cdr's have always worked well for me)
