I have not come up with a theme for our wedding yet. My husband to be is in the Army and of course that is not the theme for our wedding; however I would like to incorporate it into our wedding in some very unique ways. Could someone help me please. Thanks In Advance for not giving any rude answers:).

Hey I am an army fiancee myself, getting married in less then two months! As for incorporating the army, you can have an army garter, or his grooms cake can have an army theme if you have one. I personally like the happily ever after wedding theme, as I am sure you are his princess and he is your prince charming. I know it is cheesy though. Good luck and congrats!

I'm sure you're a proud bride!! Thank you to groom for serving our country! We owe him our freedom! Anyways...........you can go with military/army colors....I read that they are getting new dress blues.....a bit fancier!1 If so then the colors ( http://www.smdc.army.mil/SMDCPhoto_Gallery/Eagle/Nov04/SSG%20Handy%20funeral%20(0)%20lr.jpg ) incorporate blue and yellows. You could have those colors with tulips roses and delphinium flowers. You could do the sword ceremony if you are having other groomsmen inuniform, or if you have enough guests who will be in uniform. The cake topper can be military looking, the garter, use a sword to cut the cake, also you could ask that every one bring something (include a list) that can be included in a care package to a soldier serving overseas. (then have friends or family, or when you get back from honeymoon, assemble and sed them out) Depending on how military you want to go you could use military netting as a backdrop to the cake table. Hope that gives you some ideas. Best wishes.....

Well, I don't know about green or camafloge in a wedding but you could always do the red, white and blue. His dress uniform would be good for the wedding and save you a few dollars and would incorporate his profession quite nicely. If best man is in the Army also, he could so the same.

How about an All-American theme? You don't have to overdo it, but each table can be named after a different area of the country you and your hubby-to-be have special attachments to (states, cities, landmarks, even restaurants). The cake can be adorned with fresh red and blue berries, or it can look as if it's covered in fireworks--you can do it in colors, or with silver stars. Favors can be red, white, and blue candles (alternate between guests) or bags of red, white, and blue jellybeans. The menu can be inspired by different areas of the country. Centerpieces can be red, white, and blue flowers with a flag slipped into each bouquet.

If not that, world travel is another idea. Folks in the army aren't going anywhere fun these days--how about a focus on all the wonderful places to visit in the world? Each table can be based on a famous world city, and the table cards for the guests can be written on pieces of a world map--or make fake plane tickets and write each person's name and table on each one.

Favors can be personalized gym bags (those little zipper bags that are so good for travel) and you can even fill them with some sample-sized toothpaste, toothbrush, etc. (This is great especially if some people are coming from out of town.) Or, you could give each person a copy of the book "100 Places to See Before You Die." If that seems too morbid, any book on travel would make a great favor. . . or,better yet, a travel journal for each person to write in, with the first page set aside for your wedding!

Or, you could do a "giving back" theme. Soldiers love getting care packages with everything from snacks to DVDs, first aid supplies, and just letters saying you care. Ask each guest to bring something for the troops, and have nicely decorated boxes on each table as the centerpiece for people to place their items. Hang wedding balloons from the centerpieces to liven them up. Have a wedding book for yourselves, and another for guests to sign for the troops. (You shouldn't have trouble finding a unit in Iraq or Afghanistan to sent this to.) Favors can be mini teddy bears wearing yellow ribbons, or some similar yellow-ribbon item. The cake can have a yellow-ribbon theme as well. Good luck!

Themes are hard to choose for someone else. I think it should be personal--it should say something about the two of you and the things that you like. My husband and I like wine so we used burgundy in our colors and gave wine stoppers as gifts. We also like to have a good time. We had custom made bobble heads as our cake topper (carved and painted to look like us!). I think that as a way to incorporate your husbands profession could be in the favor. What if you donated something in honor of your guests? Or in honor of your special day? You can make donations to almost any thing these days-can you make a donation to the Army?

I'd go with the Army Garter as well. Not sure if the Army has a sword thingy you could walk under like I think the Marines do but that's a possibility as well. My boyfriend is in the Army as well. I wasn't planning anything beyond the garter as I'm sure members of his battalion will be in attendance and will delight in catching it.

What colors do you like? What time of year do you want to get married? What inspires you?

For me, once I figured out my bridesmaids dresses would be turquoise. And my colors for the table clothes would be coral and turquoise--it just reminded me of the Caribbean. So thats what I went with for my theme. I picked 2 napkins as accents in sand and fushia and used lime green for the buffet tables. It was great and really helped with my flower selection as well.

A friend found that everything she really liked was very country. She used a barn as her reception hall so everything was going to be country anyway. Kept it simplistic.

You don't necessary have to have a theme as a color palette. If you like the rich burgendys, golds, browns of fall you could easily just call your theme Fall Foliage. You don't have to have signs up or announce your theme to others--its just so much as your colors.

But that is completely up to you...what you are interested in, what your style is--country, modern, do you have any heritage you wish to incorportate--asian, latin, what colors you prefer.

Just see what comes to you. I wanted a gorgeous coral gown until I had my sister try it on. When I saw her in it, I hated the fit of that gown. No matter what size, it was just risque. She found the bridesmaid dress herself. Sometimes you like a fall color and when you see gold on your maid of honor, you change your mind!! So don't get so stuck on your colors until you've played around with it.

The season is going to matter a lot too. Getting married in summer, fall, winter--will all affect the floral selection.

One thing I would like is..not so much camo but 2 shades of green. Like in nature. Perhaps a bit of an outdoor green and a pale green. Or a beige.

my wedding theme was cape cod/beachy. my husband and i love the cape and the beach and have had some many great moments while vacationing there. take something that is special to the two of you and run with it.

have your hubby-to-be wear his dress uniform, and the other formal things they do (swords?) but have whatever theme you want! it will work!
