Of course, we can't know... I just wanna know why the Bible advocates the KILLING of 2/3s of ALL HUMANITY?
And why Christians universally seem to think this is a "Good Thing"? ... Love? - Pffffffft! ... Tolerance? - Pffffffft!

How do you explain all the fulfilled prophecies? Beginning in Genesis 3:15 and continuing throughout the Bible. The following things were foretold ( and this is not an inclusive list)
: The virgin birth of Jesus Christ, his birth in the city of Bethlehem, His role as Savior and Messiah, His death by crucifixion, when that mode of capital punishment did not exist, the resurrection of Jesus on the third day, the rebirth of the nation of Israel, the enmity the entire Muslim world feels
toward Israel, Jerusalem as the hot spot of the entire world, and the destruction of Herod's temple ( made by Jesus Himself) 37 years before it happened, to name a few.

You notice I did not give the Bible verses, I'm not going to do your research for you. Even a nominal student of the Bible will have no trouble finding these verses.

God advised him to seal them up, those issues at the instant are not meant so which you will understand. guy will understand interior the final days.

One of the prolific writers in the world, I believe it was Harold Robbins but I could be wrong about the name, never wrote any of his books. He dictated them to secretaries who wrote them. The same is true of the Bible.

We can know this by the style of the writing. Altthough each secretary brought his own viewpoint, the message remains the same. God's right to rule his creations was questioned and his purpose for the earth was interupted. Jesus had to restore the balance for the sake of justice to set the stage for cleaning the earth to restore God's original purpose for the earth and man. At that time, the question of right to rule will be settled for all time.

This is how we know the Bible is inspired by God. In 1,692 years and 39 writers, its overall theme is maintained.

I guess I'm one of those you so wisely referred to as "they". And, for the billionth time... it is a matter of faith. I agree that I can't prove to you it was inspired by God, and even I had the same question. But, the more I read the Bible and studied it, the more I sought for the answer... the more sure I became that God inspired the Bible and it is truthful. In other words, I stepped out on faith... you might want to try it some time, at worst... it won't change anything you believe, at best: it will grant you an eternal life in Heaven.

Its all they have ..........

They have to make a collection of books written by different people into the "word of god" otherwise they wont have anything to support their strange doctrines.

The OT and thousands of years of revelation through Israelite Prophets do not coincide with Christian beliefs.

Christianity has much more in common with Polytheistic religions like Mithraism or Hinduism.

extremely good point and i agree with you 100%

For those who say that it was inspired by god because of what it says, take a look at Luke 12:47 where Jesus says that you shoudl beat all slaves, some harder than others. This is just one of many other things we would look upon as bad in our society, such as killing adulterers, killing people who disobey their parents, etc. A freinds of mine showed me a verse (i forgot it) that pretty much said whoever helps the Jews is blessed by god. guess who wrote the bible. jews.

And the claim that you take it on faith is not a very convincing or admirable one.

How are you sure Abraham Lincoln lived, I mean after all we weren't alive when he was so how do we really know he was president??

How do you know Julius Caesar lived?? Leonardo DiVinci??
William Shakespear??

They all left documentation to prove they lived, Emancipation Proclamation, Artwork, plays, ect.

The same goes for the Bible

Why is it so easy for everyone to believe in history except for the Bible??

Most of the men who wrote the New Testament were either eye-witnesses to Jesus' teaching and miracles, or friends of those who were. All of His disciples, except one, gave up their life for what they were preaching. Would you die for something you didn't believe to be true?
